This hotel was a great value for the time we booked. It has recently re-opened from COVID-19 closure, and was still working out some kinks with booking and contacting the hotel, but this was remedied and they gave us an upgraded room to the Creekside Double. The views were amazing! Balcony and 2 other windows. Beds were comfy but bathrooms could use updating. Water pressure was good and loved the toiletries. Can be a bit of noise from the pub, so if you are a light sleeper bring earplugs. Juanita at reception was very friendly and helpful. Location of hotel is fantastic with downtown and the Creekside trail, just steps away. We will be back!

Good location. Good for nightly stay. Carpet needs to be cleaned and washed. Rooms are spacious. View is okay from the room. They do charge extra hour price if you don't check out on time which never happened to us in any hotel we stayed so be careful.

The best thing about the Drake Inn is the bar - great service, atmosphere and food. The accommodation blocks are tired and shabby and in serious need of maintenance, let alone renovation. The cleaning is barely adequate and the deck off our room was really dirty, obviously not on anybody's cleaning rota. I realise that Canmore prices are high, but this motel really is a rip off and barely suitable for guest accommodation. The business owners should keep the bar and turn the rooms over to cheap rentals for seasonal workers.

When just trying to book the hotel, the website shows 370$ for 4 nights but when trying to book, it says to call the hotel, which I did. Brenda (if that is her real name) said that I had to click on a different button to book and there the price changed to 304$ per night!!! I sent sreenshoots showing the problem and she just said she was going to send an email to the manager and kept repeating that it was the price… despite what the first screen showed. She was very rude and even hang-off the phone on me… not very professional, especially as it is their mistake and I showed proof of that.

Hi Jess , I apologize that all of the pertinent information wasn’t provided to you on our website . The rates posted were a starting rate and are relevant for the current season which is our slow season. There was supposed to be a notation above the listed rates that indicates the rates are “From “ that base rate . I have called the company that hosts our site and believe the issue has been rectified. As the summer season is a lot busier than the shoulder season our rates do go up . Where do I begin. You have to go up pee and beer soaked stairwells to your room. Once entering you are greeted with what's best described as lipstick on a pig kind of room. Sinks look original.. pieces missing of off sink, taps turn backwards to normal. Sink located out of bathroom, tub not cleaned with thick layer of scum and past patrons hair. Bathroom floor filthy.
Small one cup coffee maker but no coffee or cups. You have to go back outside and ask for those if you want. Room stifling hot and patio doors don't slide open you have to rock even open then to be met with blasting music 6ft below you with loud patio bar patrons until 2am.
Good luck in finding parking in the lot at the bar patrons fill in the spots so you have to park 3 blocks away from the hotel.

Wish I had read reviews before booking - pictures on their website are OBVIOUSLY of a different hotel. Stinks of old stale smoke, door doesn’t open, everything broken … you would think for the $$ they charge (horrendously overpriced for what you get) something might get fixed but apparently not. Owners sitting on a goldmine and they clearly don’t care. Clearly. Don’t. Care. It’s a dive.

This may not be the most splashy accommodation, but it will be our go to hotel for all future visits to Canmore. The Drake is downtown on the main street, next to the river and close to the best pubs, restaurants and shops. The rate was reasonable (for Canmore) , the room clean with two firm, comfortable queen beds and crisp fresh linen. And the staff at the hotel and the adjoining pub made us feel most welcome.
Don’t be turned off by the lack of air conditioning. Our room had an oscillating floor fan, but never had a need to use it (we were there late summer @ 30+C).

My friend & I recently had a meal here and could not fault the service or quality. The lady who served us was friendly & very helpful. She adapted the menu to suit the meal my friend wanted.
Our eyes were out on stalks when our meal arrived! We could have fed a small army and it certainly didn’t cost an arm and a leg.

My sister and I stayed here on our birthday weekend and it was great! The desk staff was very friendly and speedy and the maintenance staff all stopped to say hello. They even upgraded us to an adorable little room right on the river with a nice big sliding door. Obviously it was a bit cold to use the patio area but we appreciated the view and the ducks :) excellent water pressure in the shower and lots of hot water. Comfortable beds as well! Close to all the shops on Main Street and also right across from some grocery. They also left us a little birthday gift and card and we very much appreciated it! Racist. Food was horrible. My native friends were treated poorly and after we paid a $132.14 bill they took a picture of my native friend and sent it to rose and crown to not serve us as we mentioned we were going there. I am an engineer that owns companies with a lawyer on the payroll. My lawyer is going to enjoy this case

Yes you can check in after our office hours. We have a mailbox located to the left hand side of the Hotel office doors. Inside will be an envelope with your name on it. It will contain keys to your room and information about the hotel. There is an on duty manager in the pub/restaurant until 2am if you need further assistance. We ask that you stop by the desk the next morning to register. We look forward to your visit.
