Campground is right off the Sea to Sky highway so there was a lot of road noise. We were on site C07. Not the best campground for maneuvering an RV in. Very awkward to get into many of the sites. Our picnic table was definitely due for a new one. It was rotted all over. The water tap was leaking and needed fixing. For what they charge per night I would think they could afford better maintenance of these basic things. The washrooms were clean but no dryer or paper towels. First day there was no soap in the dispenser. Second day the soap dispenser was broken and off the wall( never fixed while we were there). The showers are coin operated. There is coin laundry on site also. There are only washrooms at the front of the campground so it would be a long walk for those at the back. The ocean view sites looked nice. The young man at the office was very nice. They give you a long list of rules upon arrival and charge for any infractions. This would not be a campground of choice again.

Over priced, poorly managed, inadequate facilities, not pleasant

The service staff was great when we arrived, helpful and courteous but that was the last of the quality we encountered. For a campground with over 100 sites more than six showers seem necessary but it left us with a 30-45 minute wait unless we went in early afternoon. Sites are separated by bushes with very large thorns that were overgrown and had to be dodged when we got there. They were cut the next day and the thorny pile left in our site. Not great when you have kids. The bathrooms have no means or drying your hand, soap was often out and you had to wait for a toilet. On top of that they charge $85 for a site, comparably more than others and then charge for anything else needed. Unfortunately we reserved late and this was the only campsite available. I should have know

We've camped here several times. We enjoy the waterfall spot and our kids love it. Make sure to ask about the industry that fires up at 3am if you're on the ocean side. The manager went on this wild trip on us one time about micro garbage and how he'll charge how credit card if they find any - it was really odd. There's not enough washrooms depending on where you're set up and they definitely over charge compared to other campgrounds in the area... but we've also enjoyed our stay just beware.

Pricey for what it has to offer. The power grid is sub par, I have a state of the art panel in my van and the 30 amp service I paid for here was producing 20.7 max and as low as 10 amp. Not suitable if you need to run heavy loads in bigger units. Showers are clean but too small, unless you are 4 ft tall and weight 60 lbs. Bathrooms are dimly lit, toilet stalls basically in the dark. No problem with the pay for service scheme but poorly appointed set up. No soap, dryers or paper towels in washrooms. Considering they say they are not aware of the power grid issues, we were reluctant to trust their management of the potable water system. Would not take much to bring this to a 5 out of 5 if they wanted to. We would not have stayed here if we had options.

I had a very disappointing experience with Klahanie Campground in Squamish, BC. My partner and I had a reservation for June 28th to June 30th, which we were really looking forward to. Unfortunately, upon reaching the US/Canada border, we discovered that my partner’s passport was expired, preventing us from entering Canada.

We immediately contacted Klahanie Campground to explain our situation, hoping for some understanding and compassion, especially since we had driven all the way to the border and our reservation was made during the expensive Canada Day weekend. Instead of showing any empathy, the campground processed our cancellation but refused to provide any refund, citing their strict cancellation policy.

I understand businesses have policies, but the lack of flexibility and understanding from this "family-owned" business in such an exceptional circumstance was truly disappointing. It’s clear that Klahanie Campground prioritizes profit over customer satisfaction and basic human empathy. I would not recommend anyone to make a reservation here unless you are absolutely certain nothing will go wrong, as they will not accommodate you in any way.

Save your money and book somewhere else that values their customers.

I pulled in here looking for a tent spot for the night on the motorcycle. They said they were full but there were a few overflow spots. Ok. It’ll do. Until I got to the spot. They parked me down in their storage yard where the equipment and broken junk and railroad ties are. I’ve pitched a tent in worse spots, then came the bill. $48!!! I was expecting $10. $20 tops. This was the most expensive tent spot I’ve stayed in all summer. I’ve stayed in maybe 10-12 sites ranging from $10 to $40. All were better than this place. I get it that they’re accommodating me when they’re fully booked, but taking advantage with the price gouge.

Been there with the family in the summer of 2018.
The staff on the ground was friendly and helpful. I had been offered to sign a waiver/camp property policy.
We truly enjoyed it, but all turned out to be very bad the next day we returned home.
Got a message from the owner/manager saying he was going to charge me 400 dollars for the tree damage. The picture showed the tree bark was hacked by an axe. Pure vandalism act. I am not in the habit of vandalizing somebody's property let alone a beautiful tree.
I replied if he did not drop the charge I would contact the BBB. A few minutes later he called me and asked me several questions as if he was trying to investigate the incident.
So as per my promise, I did not contact the BBB. And it does not sit very well with me to this day. He was obviously targeting recent immigrants, people who do not know their rights, are afraid or unable to say in their own defense. Such people are the worst in the hospitality business, their actions undermine the very name of the business.
I am sending this scam to the BBB right now. Unfortunately, 5 years too late

I really hope people will choose another campsite after reading this review. First of all, the price...ridiculously overpriced, but with the pandemic and the fact that we had to cancel our camping in Birch Bay since borders were closed, we HAD to choose somewhere so as not to disappoint the kids, and we now know why this was the only spot still available. The rules and management are ridiculous, and the sites are small. When I booked, I called first to ask if the site would accommodate our party of 8, and the answer was yes, no problem at all. Well, that was not the case. We definitely could not fit 2 tents and a tent trailer plus vehicles, which I was assured we would, but we made it work because we always try to make the best of things, and we packed our tent trailer to the max with people and only pitched 1 tent for a couple other people.

Secondly, no paper towel in the bathrooms, or a hand dryer. Granted, not a huge deal, BUT when dealing with COVID and not wanting to touch surfaces with bare hands especially after washing them then having to grab the door handle on the way out, which was a very heavy door, I might add, was another pain.

Thirdly, we had very noisy campers next to us partying until 3 am, and with the (very) long list of 'rules' handed to us on check in, states that quiet time is 10 pm, yet nothing was done to quiet people down. Hey, I get it, camping is fun, we want to stay up late around the fire and have a good time, but 3 am?! Come on... yet, no one is around to enforce the quiet time rule, so rather than get in an argument with the campers, we put up with it.

Fourthly, wood cost - $10 a bundle for wet wood. Pretty self-explanatory annoyance there.

Finally, after we cleaned up all the garbage from our site, left it spotless (I thought), I threw a little cardboard candy box (think Red Hots box) into the fire pit with 3 little tiny candies, a napkin, and some paper (like, in total, all was a handful of burnable garbage) for the next people to burn, with 2 logs of charred wood.... we had already taken the garbage to the dumpster, so I didn't think it was a big deal to just toss burnables into the pit ... they charged us a cleaning fee?! Seriously!? After 8 people spent 5 days camping and spent close to $700, you are going to charge us for a handful of microgarbage thrown into the fire pit? When I politely questioned the manager, he had a canned response as if he was used to dealing with this kind of complaint. He said garbage attracts wildlife and also said his cleaning lady had to get down on her hands and knees to pick this up . I hardly think the mere handful (and I have a picture I can email anyone who is curious) of microgarbage left in the firepit to burn is worth someone's time to the amount of $25 to $50, give me a break. I will add, 1 plastic spoon and 3 bottlecaps were also found. An oversight on my part, it was raining and muddy and I obviously didn't catch those... but when they emailed me a pic of the 'gargabe' left, they took 1 picture and split it into 4 pics to make it look like a bunch was left...are you effing kidding me?! Total cash grab!! Yet, they leave a dead woodpecker sitting by the bathroom for days...well, wouldn't that not attract wildlife, too?! When I questioned management about this, the response was "that is nature taking it's course' and had I brought it to someone's attention, it would have been taken care of. Well, it's not my job to bring it to your attention. You obviously have a very eagle-eyed cleaning lady there that could have cleaned it up, since she so painstakingly got on her hands and knees to pick out garbage from the fire pit.

Needless to say, we will NEVER stay here again. I am not normally one to complain, and as I said will always try to make the best of things, but the cleaning fee was the last straw for me. I suggest they use my "cleaning fee" monies to buy some paper towel for the bathrooms for the next people.

Also, the cleaning lady is a very crabby lady, and she was overheard complaining about a friend of mine because he used the outside tap by the bathroom to splash some water on his head/face.... obviously, she needs a better job choice if something like THAT is an annoyance to her.

Good riddance, Klahanie!

We were warned about the park manager Rick before arriving but thought we’d see for ourselves. Upon arrival you will be given a 4 page list of ridiculous rules dictating everything from when you can hang a flag (only Canada day) to the size of the rv matt you can have on the ground outside (only 2’x2’) In our first week we found someone creeping around at night through our site and after asking Rick he assured us the camp was safe. However after speaking with the neighbours we found out this was common and they’ve actually set up a “neighbourhood watch” and leave outdoor lights on because the park does not have a single street light and it’s pitch black at night. To make matters worse it’s located beside a large parking lot. Rick is simply a scam artist. His “ocean view” sites can only see a glimpse through forest and there is zero access to the water because of the train tracks that run directly beside the camp and campsites. The “waterfall view” sights are accurate because you can see the falls. What he does not inform you of is they are on the opposite side of the main noisy highway and massive parking lot. The “falls view” sites are just plain ugly. Above most sites there are broken and dangling branches that are about to fall on trailers. Our neighbour had to move sites because her trailer was hit by so many falling branches. The internet is garbage and they charge you $100 for 100gigs of slow speed internet. Rick doesn’t allow a recycling bin outside, or skirting on the trailers, or too much fire wood. If you book your site long term like we did and leave for whatever reason rick will book out your site. As I write this there is a camper parked in my site because I left for my own reasons but planned to return because I had it booked for the month. I realize you don’t really have many options in Squamish especially for year round camping, that’s why we too had to book here and the only reason rick gets away with his poor business practices. If you can avoid it do not rent here. 5 minutes speaking to rick and you’ll immediately know why. There are other beautiful year round campsites you should try first. Renters beware!

We arrived middle of the day (1 pm) for a wedding in Squmaish to a closed office ( 12 pm+ check in time) that advertised may or may not be open as a joke. They were not open/anyone to greet us after a long drive. Our site was indicated on the office window. There are little to no directions through the camp sites on corners or forks in the rd. After finding the site on foot, we had to back up from the front office due to lack of roads to back in to the assigned site with our small 20ft trailer 500m+. Would not have been enjoyable in the dark. The power and water as booked per our reservation were 30' away from the logical corner as they should be per the standard drivers side utility rv site. I did not have time or want to pay for a extension cord and water hose from the Squamish hardware store. To add insult, coming home from the wedding late at night, one of the camp ground attendants made sure to confront us as we found our camp site in the dark to make sure we were registered guests. There are no views from this camp ground unless highway and power lines are what you are into. Facilities include timber roof wash houses that meet code at best, filled with large bugs and spiders. Consider yourself warned there are much nicer camp grounds to choose from not much farther down the highway.
