The Georgian Bay Hotel Trademark Collection by Wyndham delivers a mix of impressions, with guests enjoying its elegant, resort-like atmosphere amidst occasional remarks about its dated aspects. While the location earns accolades for its tranquility and accessibility to local attractions, opinions on the rooms are mixed; they are found to be spacious yet outdated, with some concerns over cleanliness and comfort. The service stands out for its friendliness, although issues like early check-in fees have been noted. Despite the appreciation for amenities like the pool, the overall value is questioned due to high costs and additional charges.

We arrived on July 17 for my husband's birthday ,I had arranged a package deal that included a boat tour, wanted a sunset cruise but that was not available to us ,I also arranged a 1 hour relaxation massage for my husband ,we could not do couples due to the pandemic .We stayed in a deluxe king room and we were very pleased with it ,was updated ,clean ,bed was comfortable ,only recommendation I would make here are pillow protectors and mattress cover for the bed ,also fix the phone ,there was nothing there to indicate extensions to call if we had questions ,we had to go to the front desk .Another recommendation I have is regarding the boat cruise ,when booking there should be more info available on the type of boat that you would be cruising on ,we were a little taken back when we arrived to find a boat that is mainly used for fishing charters ,which is fine for anybody that is going fishing ,this was not cheap by no means and we were expecting a little more luxury to be honest. Having said that we made the best of it and the tour operator was quite friendly and very informative .We did have a meal at the restaurant ,even tho the menu was limited ,again due to covid ,the food was delicious and staff was super friendly and inviting ,so were the staff at the hotel .Our first time to Collingwood and the area is beautiful

First issue to state is the Restaurant is not open for breakfast like the website says and the next closest place is 5km down the road. I found this very important especially with a child.

The pool was fun you have to book a 1 hour time slot and you can’t book 4-9 pm unless your checking in the day. Which seems unfair to me.

As for the room we stayed in a 1 bedroom suite it was very clean but outdated the hotel is in need of some repairs when it rained there was a large leak going all the way down to the first floor right by the elevator.

We tried to make the best of what we had but would we come back most likely not.

We stayed a couple of nights at Georgian Bay Hotel Trademark Collection by Wyndham over New Years so that we could enjoy some New Years Day skiing. In terms of upkeep the hotel is in decent shape. I imagine there is more to do at the hotel in summer. The first evening was basically ruined in terms of sleep as we were woken up by noisy guests basically hourly from 1 to 4 am which led to a terrible sleeps. Phone down to reception once to complain but gave up after that. Brought it up with the front desk the next morning and got an apology. Kind of thought you would make it right by offering some sort of discount on the stay or even breakfast. Was told that someone would contact us to offer us some sort of discount on a future stay but we have not hear anything. I really am only looking for two things when I stay at a hotel. A good nights sleep and a hot shower. You guys failed on the one.

Surprised my wife with a birthday weekend to the Georgian Bay Hotel where we did the hot Scandinave Hot Springs (just down the street), my wife was papered with a Facial and manicure. I booked the wine, dine and stay package which included 2 nights, a bottle of wine and dinner at Gustav Chophouse where we both had Prime rib so delicious!

This hotel was above my expectations. It looks rather new and looked more upscale than previous photos posted on other reviews.

My room was very clean and well kept. We had a large bedroom, great bathroom space, kitchen area, eating area, a living area and a family room area. One couch converted to a bed so that’s where my son slept. The beds are very comfortable. We had a great 2 nights sleep. The kitchen comes equipped with your basic cooking utensils. We packed food and ate home cooked meals in our room. It really felt like we were at home and not living in some hotel room.

This hotel is 10 minutes from Blue Mountain. We would eat breakfast in our room and head down to BM to ski and snowboard for the day. We packed lunches with us to save cost of our 2 day getaway, as skiing at BM is very costly. This hotel is in a great location and for what we paid for 2 nights I feel it was a great value.

The hotel has a swimming pool, restaurant, gym and spa. We didn’t try any of it since we didn’t have time, but will next time for sure.

We are planning another ski/snowboarding trip March Break and will definitely be coming back here. My fiancé works in the Canadian Army and coming here was a great way to end off his 3 week holiday break before going back to work. He was very happy and had a great time and my 6 year old son had a great time here too.

Thank you for a great mini getaway.

Visited for a weekend getaway a couple of weeks ago and left completely dissatisfied. A couple of minor things; the phone in the room had no instructions on how to use it so we could not easily call the front desk when we needed to, and our outlet in the bathroom was not working.

A couple of bigger issues we experienced were that the TV was not working and we were unable to sleep through the night because of noise. We had maintenance go in and fix the TV and when we returned, we thought they were still in our room because it appeared our door was slightly cracked open. Turns out, it was not sealed properly. After turning the TV off and back on, it wasn't working again.

During the night, there was a couple of extremely rude guests 2 rooms over and we did not sleep at all. We were up every hour from their noise. We could hear everything through the door. We called the front desk from google since we did not know how to operate the phone in the room, and ended up on the phone with someone from Mexico. That representative reported the issue to the front desk and they came and asked the guests to be quiet. The guest retaliated and there was a tiff, and after that, we continued to hear them all night and nothing was done about it. When we complained about it in the morning - visually exhausted - the front desk representative was apologetic and offered 15% off our next stay, and told us that they are not getting their usual clientele right now.

I left under the impression I was also getting a discount on that stay only to find my card was charged the full price. When I called to have it sorted out, I was told it was only going to be a discount on the next stay and that I had to fill out a form with my complaint. I still have not heard back from submitting that form.

I truly do not recommend staying here. The room is decent aesthetically, but it's no good when you can hear everything through the door. You do not have privacy in your own room because you can hear everything outside the door from the hallway as well. Additionally, they are not good at handling issues, they only care about getting future business.

We wanted to escape for a weekend just to rest and relax and getaway from the news about COVID. We went with friends who had a King Size Bedroom Suite with a full kitchen while we had a room with a King Size bed. Both rooms were immaculate, comfortable and exactly what we needed. The entire hotel area respected COVID distancing rules and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The large outdoor pool is heated, and you were allowed to book an hour at a time in the pool and they only allowed 10 people in at a time. There never seemed to be an issue; the four of us were able to go in twice and they also have an indoor pool. We were close to downtown and the Harbour front where we walked along the shoreline and took a short drive to the Blue Mountain resort. Everything is close by, what a great escape!

I didn't feel confident in their pandemic response. The staff, although behind plexiglass, did not wear masks. They often were seen speaking loudly to guests beside the plexiglass. Even out in the hotel I saw some staff wearing masks under their nose while talking closely with others. Many guests did not wear masks. We received an email citing "hospital grade disinfection" between guests, but there was so much dust on the shelves in our room that I don't know how any sanitization was possible. The bathroom had a mildewy smell and the shower leaked. It was not well kept, with crumbling grout and a rusty drain. Not only did they not have contactless check-in, but you also had to check out in person, which most hotels stopped requiring long before a pandemic made it a good idea.

The room was a great size, and getting a reservation in the pool was easy and felt very safe because no one else was there. I really wanted to like this hotel, but unfortunately we won't be staying there again.

Our stay at the Georgian Bay Hotel was very good. We were in a 3 bedroom townhouse unit through RCI and although it was not one of the new buildings, it was well maintained. There was lots of room for 3 couples although the kitchen was a little small; it was very well equipped though. The restaurant on site was very good and the location is close to town and the ski hill. Excellent service provided by housekeeping as they checked in with us daily to see if there was anything we needed. There was very prompt service when we needed any help.

Room was not what we wanted or anticipated but very quiet all things that we needed close to the Hotel
No TV in BDRM bathroom was probably the best room. Heated floors. The kitchen table was not comfortable to sit on the chairs and table was small. Had to call for Pot's and Pans stove took forever to heat up so cooking took longer. Overall clean and quiet but I will not be back anytime soon.
Thanks

Not a walking trail near the lake. It's a 10 min walk across the hwy over to a side street to walk to the water. Dockside Dr to Lighthouse Lane is close to the water.

Both indoor/outdoor pools were open for our two night stay Seot 24. The pool outdoors last Oct was still open the 3rd week of Oct when we stayed. Outdoor pool is nice & warm, indoor a little cold. You have book your time at front desk when you want to go. Maybe in the summer the time was limited to an hour but not in Sept. They need to keep track this Covid year! Not sure about the gym? Deluxe Room was nicely renovated this trip on 1st floor, we just happened to get the same room. Gustav restaurant is not open for breakfast, noon till 8 or 9pm. Went down the road to the Eggsmart each morning about 7 mins drive!
