Former Guest House for Highland Valley Copper Mines Now a Bed and Breakfast and Bed and Bale, this bungalow with over 4,700 sq. ft. consists of 4 luxury bedrooms. Each room complete with a four-piece bathroom in each room, spacious living room and dining area with a view of 25 acres of relaxation. Located in the District of Logan Lake; the heart of the Highland Valley, Logan Lake is situated in the pristine natural environment south of Kamloops on Hwy 5, via Hwy 97C. Originally a company town created to service one of North America's largest open pit copper mines, today Logan Lake has grown to become a diversified community. Highland House has developed into an urban oasis in a rural setting, providing all the conveniences of a city, but still offers a quiet vacation surrounded by mountains, lakes and forests. It's the perfect starting point for fishing, hunting and back country exploring. The beautiful Highland Valley is renowned for its excellent fishing, in the winter or summer! With over 30 lakes in the immediate area teeming with fish, Logan Lake is considered to have some of the best fishing in the Province. Folks around these parts have deemed it "the unofficial headquarters for fly fishing". During the long daylight hours of spring, summer and fall you can explore Logan Lake's back country roads by hiking, mountain biking, driving, or on horseback. We have DESIGNATED ATV trails right outside our door. ATV loading and Unloading ramp with in 2KM. NOTE: Although we are extreme animal lovers , it is with regret that we announce that we do NOT allow pets in our BnB for various reasons.

What an experience! The accommodations were beautiful. There are large, very clean bedrooms with gorgeous views, and a main social area with high ceiling and wooden features. They were very conscious of social distancing rules, and were more than happy to resolve any issues we had safely and quickly. Jill and Don are very kind, friendly people, and I must say, the breakfasts were fabulous and large enough to keep me going all day! The best thing was that we were able to take riding lessons. Jill is a certified equestrian coach, and for a very reasonable fee, I learned so much that I had never learned when I had taken riding lessons in my youth. Her way with her horses and the method in which she teaches is truly exceptional!

This is a beautiful property and ideal location to explore the surrounding wilderness for fishing, atvs, biking or my favorite horse camping. The trails are easily accessible, well maintained and literally across the road. They are very well marked. The hosts Jill and Jay went above and beyond to help us with everything and bonus, are exceptionally knowledgable when it comes to horses. The views from our campsite were beautiful and our horses very comfortable in separate pens. We were delighted to find out that we had excellent internet connection too. Logan Lake is just 5min away with dump site for RVs, liquor store, a few restaurants etc. This will be our go to spot for horse camping or just a weekend relaxing getaway in future.

I can not say enough great things about Highland house. Easy drive from the coast with a quick stop in Merritt to pick up some last minute supplies then we were welcomed to Highland B and B . We had a camping spot with a gorgeous view and our horses settled into large, safe corals. The next day our fabulous host guided us to the start of the trail system and we began the adventure of one of the most outstanding trail rides we have ever experienced. Highland house offers it all, fishing, hiking, biking, photography opportunities, horse trails, lessons and relaxing at the ranch. Jill and Jay were quick to answer all our email inquiries. Great holiday!

My husband and I checked into this gem for the Canada Day long weekend, and it was spectacular! The hospitality from the hosts, Jill, Don, and Jay was next to none, and the breakfasts were awesome! The B&B is surrounded by the most beautiful landscape, including their horses (where for a reasonable fee, you can tack on a riding lesson or 2!) In the evening, we were able to sit outide and see the most spectacular moon-rise, accompanied by the yips and hoots of local coyotes and owls! There is also excellent fishing nearby at Logan Lake, Tunkwa Lake, and numerous others in the Thompson-Nicola region.

We stayed with 2 nights with kids in our RV, boondocking. The owners are developing the campground. The terrain is still a bit rough, but we were able to drive the RV up to the rim of the terrain and had a great view over the creek and valley. The owners asked us if we liked to watch them train a ‘wild horse’ which of course we wanted to see and which was very interesting! The girls got to share a pony ride lesson ($75 approx 1 hr) which was also very nice and insightful. Would definitely recommend staying here, especially if you’re into a bit of wilderness, ranch and horses.

This place is so beautiful & cozy, you wake up
to a nice view and breakfast Jill makes you feel like home. The room was clean and has everything you need also the bed was really comfy.
Not to mention that Jill saved us, we’re doing a road trip to Banff from Seattle Washington and we ran out of gas at 11pm.. the gas station was closed. We call her and luckily she had one room available for us. She even picked us up at the gas station. Definitely an adventure we will never forget.
Looking forward to come back in the future :)

Very comfortable accommodation and a full cooked breakfast each day. Room and public areas were very clean and extra care taken with Covid regulations. The owner, Jill, was very hospitable, friendly and helpful. An added bonus was being able to watch Jay work with the horses - most interesting! All in all a great experience and a nice break for us.

I stayed at Highland House Ranch in Logan lake B.C. last week, October 15th to 21st. Very nice setting in a large ranch style house located on a vast property. Really enjoyed the people that were staying there, and especially the owners Don and Jill. The house is clean and quite, the open area is really cool with post and beam construction and a huge fireplace. The owners couldn't do enough to make sure you were taken care. I would recommend this property if your stay in Logan Lake.

A big thanks Don and Jill for a fantastic stay

I am really not sure how the previous reviewers can say all these nice things about this property. Not only surprising but it feels as if they are planted.
Here is what you need to know.
Do you like showering every morning with water that smells like sewer water from a waste water facility? If yes then this is the place for you. The agony of the morning shower is unbearable.
Do you like living in a place that last time anyone dusted and cleaned ornaments and everytning else was prior to the great depression era of 1920? Well then this is the place for you.
Do you like staying in a place where during breakfast or dinner you must wear a heavy coat inside the house at 15 degrees C celsius? This is your spot!! They tell you that it is because you are from the south and not use to cool weather.
Do you like comming into a house and smelling rottten garbage at the entrance? If this is your preferance, then this is the place for you.
Do you like waking up to the odours of cooking breakfast while still in bed at 5am? Wonderfull new idea. You should bottle it and take it home.
Do you like to know that the equipment room with fired heaters and other flammable equipment is unsafe and likely to have a major accident some day? This is your chance to be a statistic.
Do you like to have to drink bottled water all day every day because tap water will make you feel like you are in Mexico and having Montezzumas revenge? Then you can pretent you are at a Mexico beach but it is cold and uncomfortable. They will show you the test results from a lab report which states the water is great, but it has lots of minerals and definatelly a load of sulphur. That does the trick for most people.
I can go on and on but what is the point? They will still get customers who like all or parts of the above.
Why do people stay here? There are some reasons ofcourse.
1. Very close to the HVC mine where most people who visit here work on contract for a few days.
2. The most important reason is that there is little choice other than the LL Lodge which is far superior but almost always sold out.

The people who own and operate the property are nice enough but they must understand that the client deserves a clean, safe and warm place while staying at their facility.
Spending some money to install a filter in the water well so the water is of top and clear and odour free quality is of utmost importance.
Making sure to keep the rooms and entire house nice and warm at 21 degrees Celsius as it is required by health standards is essential.
Removing combustibles and keeping the mechanical room clean and tidy and safe is mandatory by law.
Bringing in someone to fully dust and clean the place as well as making sure that changing linen every couple of days is important to health as well as making sure to iron these bed linen so they do not look like someone has already slept in them in another room, in very very important.

I hope they will take this as an advice made in good faith and get the place in top shape because the loaction is outstanding and it can be made into a first class property that anyone would be proud to own and operate.
Good luck.
