This was a great hostel in a perfect location on a popular street full of restaurants in QC. The city is so small and walkable, it's about 5-10 minutes walking to any of the historic areas, bars, etc. I loved that the hostel was so cute, it fit the vibe of the city very much. Lots of awesome amenities onsite including a bar (which we got a free drink ticket for), a cinema room, a jungle room of hammocks, nice seating around the kitchen, a gym, and a nice front patio.

We were in a private room on the top floor (a few flights of stairs to reach it), and this was just ok. The room was super small, basically just room for the bed and a little table, but for the very cheap price this was fine with me. The bed was extremely comfy. Communal bathrooms in the hall were fine, although they could have done with more toilets (there were only two toilets on our floor that I saw, and a shower room with 4-5 stalls).

I was really happy with my stay and would return if ever back in QC.

This is a strange place! But it is centrally located for bars, restaurants ( 'party central') and lots of history and heritage.

PROs: easy check-in, clean(!), comfy bed, lots of hot water, bar on site, big kitchen, great location, free coffee.
CONs: loud music until late, noisy/drunk youngsters, many stairs(!).

We're in our 60s, so we asked for a 4th floor room at the back - apart from all the stairs, a WISE CHOICE! We didn't hear/feel the booming bass of the dance music that goes on (until 2am, apparently). We slept comfortably through it all.

Many of the negative comments here are because folks had 2nd or 3rd floor rooms, at the front, between Thu-Sun. Apparently if you stay Mon-Wed it's quiet.

Parking ($18/24hrs) was about 300m away: no problem. Don't be tempted to pay-park on the main drag overnight on weekends.

It is a hostel, so there are shared bathrooms. Shower stalls are small/tight, but clean, modern and hot!
For some reason there were no wash-basins on the 4th floor - only tiny hand-wash stations in the toilet cubicles. Tricky to shave using a sink the size of an envelope!! Hey well.

The bar opens at 8, which was nice until about 10pm when it started to get crowded - so we went to bed (we had an early start).

Would I do it again? Not for more than one night, no. But for one night, on the top floor, at the back, sure. Just remember that this is not a 3* hotel!

Couldn’t ask for a better location. It’s about a 7min walk to the gates entering old Quebec. There is a nearby parking lot for $18 a day. The hostel is new and clean; the mattresses are very comfortable (much better than I expected). The room had a dimmer switch and each bunk has curtains for privacy. The showers are small and the changing spaces in the women’s shower is no more than a foot deep (I found it easier to just put pajamas on and then change in the room). Because the bunks have walls on 3 of the walls, it also creates a lot of privacy compared to most other hostels I’ve stayed at.

They moved me from the 2nd floor to the 3rd floor when I checked in (away from the noisy bar on the 1st floor).

The only complaint I have was the temperature of the room. I stayed 3 nights - the first was fine but the 2nd and 3rd nights were uncomfortably warm (probably about 80c in the room when it was 65c outside). The heat was on in the room and couldn’t be turned off. I asked reception about turning on the air conditioning but they didn’t know where the remote was for it, so she couldn’t do anything. I tried to open the windows but they were all screwed shut.

Other than the temperature, it was a great stay.

First off, the location of this hostel is right in downtown where all the restaurants are. It’s so convenient when you arrive late and hungry and just wanted to have some good food without having to walk for miles. Second, staff are so friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful. They let me store my bike in the employee’s room. The facilities are so clean. I booked a 14 beds dorm and on my first night I was the only one there. There is a balcony where you can sit and people watching. There are multiple bathrooms and some private ones and multiple showers. And everything is so clean. One thing I would suggest is to have some hangers in the room just so people can hang their towels or jackets. Also, it would be great if shampoo and body wash could be provided. Somebody travel very light. The bed is so comfortable and there is a curtain to provide some privacy for each bed. I would definitely stay here again if I am in the area.

Came here end of April this year with a group of 11 of us. We booked in advance and were given a full 12 bed room, without having to pay the extra for the unused bed. Really lovely service from the staff from the start, offered towels and extra bedding when the room got slightly too cold one night. We were also in the room with the balcony which was an added touch that gave us all extra space also.

Quebec city itself was quieter than we had hoped, however it was during the week. Despite this, it would have been nice if the bar in the hostel was open earlier in the week and didn’t wait until Thursday to open.

Overall the place was clean, the kitchen was spacious for the amount of guests. Plenty of living and recreational areas. Friendly staff and a calm and safe living environment.

Thankyou for accommodating us Qbeds!

Avoid this place if you need to sleep before 3 am.
Too much noise coming from the hostel's bar. They play loud music (with horrible "bass" that makes the bed vibrate) till very late by night. I asked the staff to do something about it, as I wasn't able to sleep at all. Despite being nice and understanding, they couldn't stop the noise.
It seems that the management care more about bar's clients than hostel's guests !

We had booked for 2 nights, but as soon as we arrived the place was very dirty, no maintenance... there was no one to check in, and we had to wait 10 minutes for the person to arrive. We were reluctant to find another place to sleep the other night given the state of the place.
