This is a great park with lots to do for your family. Even when the park is busy there is always a place to swim in the quarry without feeling crowded. However, I have to say that the speeding in the park is atrocious. I hope you don't have small kids who walk the roads. The drivers don't even pay attention while they are speeding, they are on their phones or looking around at sites but never the road. Someone will be hit there one day and I am sad for that. The other complaint that I have is the bathrooms aren't clean, even going in after they clean it the floors and showers are disgusting. Wear shoes always!

What a beautiful park. The owners are friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Ellie. So accommodating and helpful. It is well maintained, clean and best of all quiet. Quarry has great swimming with clean water and fishing. Grandkids love jumping off the rocks. Fort Erie and Ridgeway are close by for shopping and restaurants. It is a little piece of heaven and we love it!

Had a wonderful stay at Windmill Point Park this weekend. The sites are big and spacious with a decent picnic table and fireplace. Just waiting on the tree's to grow for more shade.
Had a minor issue with someone previous spilling white paint.
The owners came over tight away and took care of the situation. The quarry was huge and we were able to have a nice, relaxing time.
Thank you Windmill Point Campground

Booked this camping weekend back in the spring after being recommended by a relative. Although the owners can be seen working tirelessly watering trees and maintaining the grounds the bathrooms are filthy and unusable 90% of the time. Bathrooms and cleanliness of them should be a bigger priority than moving sand and watering trees. Our biggest concern was the endless foot traffic back and forth through our campsite all weekend long. We were located close to the event tent and given there are no barriers between sites, strangers proceeded to walk through our site for 3 days to the point a woman and her 4 kids were able to identify what we were eating for dinner they were so close! Obviously the owners cannot do much about the lack of decency or respect of it's patrons but clearly there needs to be a fence or clearly defined barrier between the sites to prevent this from happening. Random plantings that are not yet established are not enough. The more shocking part was that is was not just unknowing kids, but grown rude and inconsiderate adults, drunks and people who pretended to not understand our campsite was not a walking trail. We were offered to come back again which we declined but nothing was done to compensate for the horrible weekend we endured and at a rate far more than any provincial park. I feel a discount for having to share our campsite with 100+ other people would have been appropriate. This has been a lesson learned in never going to a private park ever again. We will stick to provincial parks where the patrons know this is not an acceptable way to conduct themselves and our family can actually enjoy our time away. I have never been so anxious to leave a park before in my life!

Recently booked 2 nights to stay at Windmill and called them to discuss our stay. They were not helpful at all therefore we canceled and ending up having to eat the money as they would not give a credit. Assuming they are low on funds and needed the money and that's why they did not budge at all with any accommodations.
Very unfortunate because I am local and we were planning a little family time there and if it went well then we were going to plan a few more this summer. Will not be booking again.

The place is nice but the owner has an attitude problem, and lives on site. he likes to start fights with guests as he likes to drink, there is no shade, only a big open field for for camping and they are overpriced. better off going up the street to Sherkston shores or pick somewhere else altogether.

Not sure how the pricing is justified at this park. Unserviced sites (basically a grass area in a field) is $80-$100 per night!!!
I wouldn't keep farm animals in the bathrooms, they are always disgustingly filthy. Picnic tables that are falling apart! Hire competent staff, not kids that don't give a damn!

My wife, myself and my children went to Windmill as a last minute vacation for the kids. We went into this place not having any information about the park or what they had to offer. Just saw the sign on the road. We were greeted with a little bit of a line up at the gate, but once we got in everything was spectacular. The kids had an absolutely fantastic time. They went snorkelling, paddle boating and fishing and that gave my wife and I time alone together that was well overdue. We also loved the free movies that they play on a huge projection screen in the "Event Tent".

We didn't pack too much food so the snack bar on site was very convenient. Kind of pricey but that's to be expected at a campground. Overall very good food. Their menu had tons to offer. We tried a new thing each day. Of course the kids ordered their fries and slushies but the wife and I really enjoyed the wraps and subs.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They answered all of our questions and always talked to us with a smile on their face. It was obvious they took pride in their park and tried their very best to make sure everyone was happy.

This is my new favourite campground. I can't believe it was hiding just in Fort Erie!

We stayed at Windmill Point on the August long weekend. The park was booked fully. There was so much to do, it was amazing. Family activities right, left and center. The staff are very firm, and yet extremely friendly at the same time. They don't tolerate any nonsense, and that is why I am certain that this is always a great family spot. The only negative thing I would say about the place is that on Friday, the bathroom were absolutely gross. Some people are NASTY in the bathroom. But, some young lady, about 18 years old, came around with a clip board the next day (can't remember her name) and asked us about our stay and how we thought they could improve the park. Extremely refreshing to see someone in the younger generation taking so much initiative. We talked for about 10 minutes. She was just like the rest of the staff, very energetic, friendly and extremely professional. Which is very surprising because I did not see anyone working there above 30 years old, including the owners. I feel like they must give classes to their staff on customer service or something because there's no way they're all that great without direction. Anyway, I told the young lady that the bathrooms were gross. The rest of the weekend, they were absolutely spotless. I ran into the young lady again, and she told me that after speaking to me, the bathrooms were cleaned every single hour. Such a nice girl. Great place. Well I can finally say that I have been to a place that actually cares about their customers, not about their wallets. Will be back.

My husband and I have been retired for about 5 years now. Last year, we went around Canada in our RV (39 foot fifth wheel) and we stopped at Windmill around midnight. We were absolutely beat and getting a little cranky. The park was closed and therefore the gates were closed (obviously) and I guess someone saw our lights so they came to greet us. The man let us into the park, showed us to our serviced site, and told us to just sleep and relax and to settle everything the next day. That was just absolutely awesome.
The next day, we got up around 9:00am and I went to pay for the site. It was a little bit pricey, but that's because of the great quality of the campground. Personally, I would much rather pay a little more to stay somewhere beautiful than pay an alright price for a mediocre site. I can't even describe to you how beautiful and clean this place is. My dog Tango had a nice ledge that he could swim off of and he was pooped by the end of the day. Also, my husband loves to run with Tango, and the friendship trail is right outside their park, and every time he came in from a run, the girls at the front would pet Tango and give him a treat or two.. or six! haha! The customer service was absolutely fantastic. Everyone in the park did everything they could to make our stay comfortable, and personally that's what I look for when I stay away from home.
Also, for those people coming with families, they do have A LOT of kids activities. We did not take part, but I wish we would have!
So, for the families, younger couples, older couples, or anyone really... Windmill is an awesome place to spend the weekend. One thing is for certain, you will not be bored! I don't really recommend it for people who want to use it as a party place though, it's more of a family campground. Sure, my husband and I had a few drinks, but they have an 11:00pm quite time so people usually don't get too crazy after that time. But overall, absolutely fantastic. It's places like this that are truly comforting!! By the way, this definitely makes our top 3 campgrounds that we stayed at on our travels throughout Canada!

Answer from Ellie G

Hi Charissa, Thank you for your question. We have both waterfront sites and sites with views of our spring-fed quarry that have both electric and water services for RVs. Thanks and we hope to see you at our campground! :)
