When planning my wknd trip to Niagara for Aug 2003, I first looked at rooms within walking distance of the Falls, but these all cost more than I wanted to spend.

With very little info to go on (just one review on Trip Advisor) I decided to go ahead and reserve a room at Niagara Falls Motor Lodge. It was a short drive from the Falls and the quoted price was only about $60 U.S. (before tax) a night.

We ended up being quite happy with it. As mentioned by the other reviewer, it was clean. It is small (20 rooms, 2 stories) and is family-owned and run. The beds were queen-sized (which is not always easy to find these days). I really liked being able to park the car right outside our door.

It is showing age and wear and tear, so you cannot be expecting something fancy. The furniture is scratched up a bit, but there is a small table with chairs, a dresser/desk, etc. The TV is old and somewhat small, but it has a remote and cable, incl HBO. There is a refrigerator and a microwave (but you can't plug them both in at the same time). The bathtub/shower seemed new. When people in the room above us were getting ready in the morning, it seemed loud, but not really bothersome. I would suggest earplugs if you are a light sleeper (I never travel without them).

The pool and pool area is small, and not the most attractive, but my 10 yr old was happy to swim in it.

It was only a 2 minute drive to the parking area where for $7.50 U.S.
you can park all day which includes a shuttle to the main Falls area.

I would definitely stay there again.

As a was looking for a hotel for 3 nights in Niagara, I was attracted by the low price and positive reviews. And I have a lot of positive things to say. The building on the outside looks quite dated. But don't judge a book by its cover. When we arrived, Stephanie (presumably the owner) greeted us as if she were so happy to see us. We received a welcome similar or that of a bed and breakfast. She took us personally to our room and gave us a tour of everything. The room was immaculately clean and featured all kinds of decor that reminded us of a B&B. This includes a display case of decorative plates and a shelf of decorative vases. The beds were soft and comfortable and she explained they were brand new. Just like we expected, there was a refrigerator and microwave. And she promised to clean the room every day, a promise she lived up to in its fullest. The only negative was the wifi. Inside the room, our devices (iPhones and iPads) did not pick up a signal. In order to be able to use the wifi, we had to go outside. The cell phone reception in the room was weak too, making the internet via the cell phone network slow. If the wifi is improved, I would gladly stay again and recommend to others.

The hospitality was great, great friendly service, and the rooms were very clean. The property looks onto a park like setting, and is in a quiet neighbourhood away from the busyness of the rest of the city. I would recommend this motel to anyone with children, or people who would like to get away from everything and to relax. The heated pool is an added bonus.

The kindness of the owners/staff of this place is what makes this place stand out from all other roadside motels. The rooms are clean and have the basic necessities for a stay (far better than a Motel 6 or a Super 8), the cost is a fraction of the Niagara Falls ripoffs, but the staff was amazing. We were planning a cycling loop and the owner graciously offered to let us leave our car in the parking lot for the 2 days that we cycled the Niagara loop. The adjoining pub is a delight for a meal after a cycle or a pint after a drive. Wonderful staff, great owners, this place is awesome!

I was travelling alone and staying because of a local golf tournament. The room was very clean ( certainly better than Day's Inn on Stanley Street ) It had a new fridge, new air conditioning, nice flat screen HD TV and most of all some real friendly service. It was was priced at half of the rip offs in Niagara Falls proper and I thought it was pretty good value for the dollar. It's also close to just about everything although I wasn't there to sightsee. A couple of decent restaurants within walking distance and the LCBO is around the corner. I'd have no hesitation about staying there again.

A small place about 10 minutes from the Horseshoe Falls, we were pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. The owner greeted us like family and escorted us to our room to make sure were were satisfied. You can see the pride of ownership in the way the property is maintained. Room was recently re-done,very clean, and smelled fresh. We had a mimi-fridge and microwave as well as a coffee maker. 4 restaurants are in the immediate area with a Tim Hortons across the street. There is a pool and a cute barbecue area located on the property. Located in the town of Chippawa, there is easy access to the Niagara Parkway, Marineland, and Fort Erie. It would be a great place for couples but families might better enjoy the craziness of the Falls area.

My wife and I stay here as it's really handy to visit Willoughby Manor in Chippawa (also not far from the Falls, via the Niagara Parkway). On our latest visit, we saw the latest updates ... room 101 has big LCD TV on the wall (and a second TV in the cabinet, for game play, I guess), fridge, A/C of course, plus we could bring our little poodle for just $10 more. They're really accommodating. The N.F. Motor Lodge keeps getting better, and it's already a great deal.

Seemed ok to do some basic email anyway but it might depend on what room you are in, or how far away you are from the front office. Not sure as we were right by the front office.
