We loved this place with beautiful panoramic views. Tom & Doris welcomed our family with their easy conversation, delightful original & Newfoundland music played & sang by Doris & Tom, delicious breakfasts some with local berries & their comfortable well appointed rooms. We arrived strangers and left feeling like family.

We stayed in Trout River for one night with Tom and Doris. Very friendly and welcoming couple. Beautiful home on a huge property. Lots of places to sit, relax and enjoy the ocean view. The room was spacious with a comfy queen bed a sofa, TV and a full ensuite bathroom. We both enjoyed a full breakfast, which included Doris's homemade bread and variety of jams. They shared lots of info about the town and hikes to do while we were there. Before we left in the morning we were entertained by both Tom and Doris, with a couple of songs Doris wrote and another traditional Newfoundland song. When in Trout River you should spend a night or two with Tom and Doris.

The place is located uphill with a spectacular view. Room we stayed in is very clean with hardwood floor. The queen bed is very comfortable. We love the all cotton bedding and local famous quilting comforter. Bathroom is cozy but have everything more than we need, lot of towels. Doris and Tom are very hospitality owner. We arrived at the B&B in the middle of the night due to our flight delayed and found Doris and Tom keep the front door and our room lights on for us. We work up late the next morning passed the scheduled breakfast time, Doris and Tom still greeted us with delicious home made breakfast, even though they have to drive to several place for some events. Our Newfoundland trip won’t be so successful if we did not meet so many kind Newfoundland people like them. Big thanks to Doris and Tom.

Doris and Tom are great hosts! So welcoming! Doris gives you the breakfast options and gets your order - lots of options! They invite you to some music time in the early evening where they share some traditional songs as well as some fun originals. The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable. Their b&b is located right down the road from the Tablelands trail and Green Gardens Trail. This is your traditional B&B experience where the hosts are onsite and are great at communicating with you, join you at breakfast and want you to feel at home.

We spent four wonderful nights with Doris and Tom in Trout River. This is an excellent base for exploring Gros Morne, and you won’t find nicer people anywhere. We were welcomed warmly and treated like members of the family. Getting to know Doris and Tom added a wonderful dimension to our Newfoundland vacation.

My wife and I spent 2 nights at Tom and Doris's beautiful property close to Trout River. Both Tom and Doris were a real pleasure to visit with and even entertained us one evening. The rooms are spotlessly clean and very comfortable and quiet. Breakfasts are very good with lots of choice. I would highly recommend their B n B if in the Trout River/Tablelands area.

Beautiful location, it takes Tom two days to cut the grass we learned. Large room with quilt on a comfy bed. Enjoyed a fabulous sunset from one of the decks with Doris and a guest. Enjoyed Doris's award-winning French Toast style delight with partridge berries and maple syrup. Doris also offers an impressive selection of handmade items.

This large new house has the potential to be a top notch B&B. The rooms are clean and a good size with ensuite baths, and Tom and Doris are friendly people who obviously enjoy talking to visitors.
However, the bedroom and bathroom were cluttered with extra furniture, ornamentation and linens. In the bathroom a couple of good quality large towels would have been more useful than shelves of room coloured small old fashioned thin ones. Having to move ornaments to find room to put down our toiletries and seeing large partially used soap/shampoo bottles in the bath is not up to par.
The house is in a beautiful location with the Tablelands visible all around and has a big porch, but the entrance end of it is being used as storage and there was no visible place to sit to take in the lovely view outside. Breakfasts are OK, but on a budget, e.g. Aunt Jemima table syrup for (rather dry tough) pancakes. Other reviewers have mentioned many breakfast options we were not offered so maybe we hit a bad day. I would still recommend this B&B as it is in a perfect location to visit the Tablelands, and the little fishing town of Trout River is close by with a good restaurant...and it has lots of potential.

Travelling as two couples for two weeks, we had pre-booked all of our B and B's. Out of the two weeks, Doris and Tom provided the most warm and welcoming of all! They are fun-loving folks who share laughter, conversation, and music. Their home is spacious and inviting, the food delicious, and their special brand of hospitality is memorable. Doris quickly improvised when she learned it was my birthday, by pulling out cake and balloons, and leading the singing. We were given excellent suggestions for trails to explore and restaurants to try. To top it all, we had forgotten a couple of items, and Tom dropped them off at the gas station on route, to save us about two hours of backtracking. THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!! We will remember you fondly, Doris and Tom!
