Travelling in the age of the coronavirus is pretty risky and I was terrified about the idea of staying in a hotel. However, holiday inn Polo Park eased those fears pretty quick. There are floor stickers and signage everywhere so you know where to stand to protect yourself And others. Plexiglass Barriers at the check-in. There is a cup for pens that are sanitized and when you’re finished using your pen to sign in you can put it in a cup that says used pens. Extra little safety factor there. Nobody gets in without a room key at the front entrance. Nobody gets up the elevator without a room key to activate it. My room was spotless. Gone are the notepads, pens and signage regarding reuse of materials. Gone is the floor mat for outside the shower. Use a towel. What’s the difference LOL the staff were very friendly and because I was leaving extra early in the morning they made sure I had a bagged breakfast to go. They offered to call me a taxi to the airport and asked me if there’s anything else they could do for me before I left. This is exemplary service from a hotel. And yes, everyone that I saw working there was masked up. And so was I. Definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who is nervous about staying in one.

We stayed here last week. The front desk attendant did not speak much English and could not understand what I was saying and I could not understand him. You need a room card to get in the front door after 11:00 pm however when we arrived at 4 pm it was locked already. Door would not open for me and security guard just sat inside the lobby watching, did not move to open the door. Had to wait for another guest to leave so I could go in! Bathroom is very tiny. Pool is only 3' deep. Called front desk to ask for bottle opener for a bottle of beer and they didn't have one, said they had a corkscrew I could come to desk and use, how inconvenient! Called front desk to ask which channel was Cartoon Network for kids, lady said she didn't know. Breakfast was not good. There was 1 lady in the breakfast area who wore all black, not sure her name, she was extremely friendly and helpful. You have to request room cleaning if there more then 1 day, I asked for it each night before to be done at 10:30 am the next day the front desk, told me they could not say what time it would be. Each morning asked the maid when I seen her for 10:30 and she accommodated us perfectly.

Everything was pretty good. The room was clean and everything in good working order. Breakfast was decent. Some staff were exceptional and others not very responsive. This hotel is near the airport and will drop off at nearby restaurants but not pick you up even when it is -30. Could easily be five stars with just a bit better service.

The hotel itself was fine but very disappointed in the several not environmentally friendly things. When checking in the receptionist attempted to give me a single use water bottle and fruit snack that was wrapped in non-recyclable plastic. What a waste! No need for the water bottle to be refilled. Despite having a sign about their commitment to taking care of the environment, there was no recycling bin in the room. I was disappointed that the cutlery and dishes were plastic/not recyclable. I don't understand why they can't have re-usable dishes/utensils. So sad!

There isn’t much close to this hotel as it’s near the airport and in a more industrial area. You can walk to the polo park shopping centre in about 20 minutes in good weather. Same for a few fast food places and the odd restaurant. Rooms were upgraded but a basic room is simple with an incredibly small bathroom. Nothing fancy.
Housekeeping staff need to be trained to stop jabbering in the halls loudly - I was trying to talk on an important call and these women were relentless outside my door.
This stay also had me surrounded by ignorant guests who have a complete disregard for others with dozens of kids who ran the halls until I asked them to stop at 10 PM. Kids must stay free, so I’ll not be back for that reason, and it was impossible to get the free breakfast, the line up was. Dry long and only one person to serve everyone.

Convenient location, comfortable accommodation and very friendly staff.
We stayed for one week and were given a suite on the ground floor. With a walk in shower, kitchenette, and king size bed it was roomy and could easily sleep four. A Keurig coffee machine was provided.
The buffet style breakfast includes sausage, bacon, turkey patties, omelettes, and beans with some changes daily. There is a good selection of pastries and bread as well. Plenty of juices, teas and coffee are provided. There is also an area providing frozen meals, toiletries, candies and canned drinks as well as a selection of ice creams.
There are also computers and printers available.
The pool and hot tub are well provided with towels and are a great asset. The steam room was closed during our stay.
Security staff are always on duty and the management staff are hospitable and visible.
While we were staying some families were being housed here temporarily, some from northern Manitoba and some refugees from Ukraine.
All the guests were hospitable and friendly and I was left with a very positive impression of a genuine hotel, unpretentious and homely.

After speaking on the phone on 2 different occasions with 2 different staff verifying that we wanted a room with a walk in shower for my disabled husband, we arrived to find we didn't have that room. Patricia spent the time to make sure we had the correct room switching upcoming reservations around to accommodate us. Patricia was the best customer service person at the Inn. She continually asked us how we were doing and what we had done that day. She was the only staff who helped us with directions. The room was clean and the breakfast was great. The location was perfect; within walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants and a 20 minute walk to a huge mall. Even though the room was for the disabled, the bed was so high, my husband couldn't get in it and ended up sleeping on the chaise lounge. The public computers were useless; couldn't get on our emails and couldn't use google maps.

I called a week earlier as I booked 2 rooms and requested joining rooms and late check-in. We only stayed a night, a total of 10 hours in this hotel. Did not even use their amenities as we were all tired. The customer service on the phone promised me that I will get the joining rooms when we get there, but when we came, the evening front desk guy told me that we cannot have it. First of all, he did not even tell me that I would not have the joining rooms, he just gave me the keys. It was when I asked if these are the joining rooms that I requested for when he told me no. I asked why, and after looking for explanation in his computer for over 2 minutes (I know because I saw him timing himself on his phone), he said the AC is down. I told him it was disappointing as after 14 hours of being in the road, this is just all my kids were hoping for. He just shrugged his shoulders and said "when you come back here, look for me and I will give you your request" and said sorry. The morning when I checked out, the nice Asian front desk lady who I talked to over the phone apologized for what happened. She did not know why the guy did not give me what I requested for. She even told me that she made a note in the computer that I should have the joining rooms and their manager approved of it. I gave 3 stars just because of how the lady handled the situation and cleanliness. The front desk guy did not do his best and what we are always trained for in hospitality "go above and beyond." I do not want anything from this hotel, but I just wanted to let you know that they need a training for customer care. -- Oh, and no lotions provided in the bathrooms.

Nicely renovated old hotel. The free breakfast is very good with bacon & eggs. The pool and hot tub were nice also. It's located close to the Polo Park shopping centre. Also close to the airport and the hotel provides a free airport shuttle service.
