There are signs around the hotel thanking people for their patience while renovations are in progress. Only one of the elevators is working for guests. Sometimes we heard construction noises (4th floor) but overall it was very quiet. The location is great as you are within walking distance of the many things Vancouver has to offer. The staff is excellent as they are very accommodating. Paid parking is a drag but such is the trend with a lot of hotels these days. While the new TV and desk area in the room were appreciated their cable system "Shaw Business" is new to us and is disappointing as it seems that half the stations available are for Sports, sometimes with the exact same sports broadcasts being on 3 or 4 channels in a row. Where is the Home and Garden (HGTV) channel or The Food Network, or other similarly popular choices? Our king sized bed was very comfortable and allowed great sleeps.

Response from Tanner T, Manager at Holiday Inn & Suites Vancouver Downtown, an IHG Hotel
Responded Feb 3, 2020
Good day Craig C, We appreciate you taking the time to complete a review from your recent stay. As you noted we currently have bathroom renovations underway. We are trying to keep the noise to a minimum while the work is being done during the day. I am sorry if this impacted your stay in any way. Your notes on the cable package are something we will look into with our provider to see if these can be adjusted. Sincerely, Tanner

Hotel appears to have recently renovated the Lobby & at least the rooms on the 4th floor. Room was large & the property owner/management made a wise choice to remove all carpeting & replace it with manufactured wood flooring/ ALL hotels should do similarly since the majority of hotel rooms still contain stained & filthy carpeting. The bed & furnishings were all in good condition & bathroom fixtures were upgraded & the tub replaced with small shower. However, the shower floor is so VERY slick that it is dangerous & needs a support bar installed. Staff were all pleasant & helpful, but the 2nd floor outdoor terrace is a dump & needs upgrading. Overall an OK stay in a great city center location that is easy walking distance to all sights throughout Downtown. Quick uber/taxi ride to the Canada Place Cruise Port & $30 USD Uber to the Airport. Also near to bus & metro rail stops which both provide service to the Airport.

Really nice place to stay downtown. Was within walking distance of many downtown attractions. Hotel Staff was very helpful and got us a nice discounted rate, despite us having no reservation. Breakfast was not included in the stay. Parking is underground and costs extra.

Check-in and check-out processes were very good. The room, common areas, and restaurant were all very clean. The staff at the front desk. bar, and restaurant were all friendly to us. The hotel is centrally located so it was easy to get to places like the Granville Market, Canada Place, Stanley Park, and Gastown.
When we arrived in our room, we found that the previous guests had not left the safe open, so we had to call the front desk. Someone came up to open it for us in 2-3 minutes.

The hotel was amazing great friendly staff at the front . Comfy beds clean rooms we loved the pool it was so helpful in the evening for our toddler. Paul at the restaurant was also wonderful he made me a birthday dessert for my birthday which was wonderful. Another lady who worked at the restaurant older lady was also very helpful and friendly. This hotel is walking distance to the train bus stops right out front and the staff will help you with anything. We will definitely be back in the future. Thank you again so much 💜

This is hands down my favorite hotel in Vancouver. The location is amazing, located in the heart of downtown. What really stand out to me is how friendly, service oriented, and accommodating the hotel stuff are. Everyone I interacted with made every effort to ensure my stay is enjoyable. Upon check in, Liz was able to provide all the details needed and worked with me to sort out the multiple reservations I had. Since I booked my stay using free nights and points, the reservations were somewhat complicated and I really appreciated her going above and beyond! I also interacted with Dennis during my stay, who answered my questions about tourist spots and places to go. He’s clearly experienced with the hotel and I love that. Finally, I’m extremely happy that the restaurant finally reopened. Jessie cooked me a tasty breakfast and was quick to recommend menu items, all of which very reasonable in price. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting vancouver!

3 rooms booked for a large party of 8 as part of a round trip, mixed party of adults and children. Booked with breakfast included. Upon arrival we received breakfast vouchers for 4 adults for each day. When addressing this we were met with no interest whatsoever in rectifying this, hotel claiming a fault of the travel agency. So breakfast included was only for half the party and the hotel management were no help in resolving.
As a side note menu items were sold out a full hour before end of service.
Food ok, service horrendous.

We stayed here for four nights in July during the heat wave. It was very warm, even by non-Vancouver standards. We had adjoining rooms and the AC was struggling to keep up in the bigger room. We asked if anything could be done and management (Chris?) was very nice to move us to different adjoining rooms that were much cooler even though the hotel was very busy and not a lot of rooms were available. The location is great and within walking distance of most everything in downtown Vancouver. We walked to English Bay Beach and saw the fireworks the night Canada won, a show we will always remember

The pool is small with no hot tub, but it is 9 feet deep with a pillar in the middle of the water. Kind of a different layout, but there are a lot of fun things to do with 9 feet of water and a pillar.

Would definitely recommend this place and will visit again next time we are in Vancouver.

Had a comfortable weekend stay while attending a conference nearby. The check in staff was very accommodating, offering to keep my bags until my room was ready, since I arrived earlier than their posted check-in time. This hotel is fairly close to the City Centre Sky Train station. I was able to take the Sky Train from the airport to save taxi fare. It was only about a 3 block walk between the Sky Train station and the hotel.

Breakfast is NOT included with the room. There is a restaurant on site with a good breakfast menu for about $20-$25 each. The food was good. The pancakes were some of the best I have had in a restaurant.

There was a fairly hefty charge for parking, which is to be expected in downtown Vancouver. By the time all five sets of taxes were added to the room, the total cost was quite a bit more than the conference rate I was quoted! There was some noise from outside on Friday night, but other than that, the hotel was quite quiet, even though it was very busy for the weekend.

The rooms are lovely and the beds are comfortable. The location is ideal for an early trip to the airport and I booked my shuttle upon arrival. Alex and Ian helped me check in and they were so fun and helpful. Great staff.

There's an email on their website. Won't let me post email. Looks like there is chat option on the website as well. Just below the phone number. You could also probably call the 800 Holiday Inn number and ask them to put that information on your file.

Check-in starts at 3:00. You can check-in anytime after 3:00 p.m. When I visited this hotel I didn't get there until about 11:00 p.m. It wasn't a problem. It helps to call the hotel ahead of time to let them know you will be arriving late. 11:00 a.m. check-out just means you have to check out anytime before 11:00.

Was not impressed with the food options here. Neither buffet or menu. For the price that is. But if you don't want to walk a block or two then go for it. I typically hit the Tim Hortons just down the road.
