We were looking for an inexpensive but still a nice place to stay for one night while in Banff. For some reason, most hotels were super expensive when we were there (July 11-12, 2020) and the least expensive choice without having to stay in a hostel was Red Carpet Inn and King Edward. We ended up choosing Red Carpet Inn because the rooms were recently renovated and they also offered a 25% off deal for AB residents. The building although out dated was clean and staff were friendly. Our room was very clean, small balcony facing the main street, nicely remodeled room/decor, big comfy bed, mini fridge, big TV and had a pod type coffee maker. Free parking in the back and close to the downtown area. It was perfect for our one night stay.

I stay in a lot of skier hotels throughout the winter. I was very impressed with Red Carpet in Banff. The place was super cheap for a holiday week, probably because a large portion of the hotel is undergoing renovations. The common areas still have that old ski hotel look, but the renovated rooms are solid three star quality. New mattresses, appliances, retiled bathrooms, large screen TVs, and a super clean common area hot tub.
The desk staff was very friendly and helpful as well.
The free ski busses pick up next door.
Get this place this cheap while you still can.

A good, comfortable place with well lit and big rooms. Furnished somewhat unconventionally but overall comfortable. One thing that I am still trying to find out from the management (without much success) is why there are additional charges. They first charged the regular amount and later when I checked my cards statement, I saw an additional charge (separate from the original bill).

Having stayed here last June, we were excited to return. The first time we stayed we were upgraded to their king size suite which was newly renovated. This time we received a suite on the first floor and I immediately noticed a stained sham across the bed. I pulled back the covers and there were hairs everywhere on the bed. The fan in the bathroom also smelled strongly of vomit when it was turned on. I asked reception to change our sheets and they switched our room for us. The second room was much worse. I didn’t even have to pull back the blankets, hairs covered the outside of the bed. The pillow cases were visibly yellowing as well. I’m really disappointed with the cleanliness this time around. It’s not difficult to ensure sheets are cleaned properly and that pillows and their covers are replaced when they have been overused. We will not book here again after this experience.

This was a disappointing stay. The contract was for a private bathroom. The wash basin was in the main room and doubled as a sink. No definition of private bathroom has the wash basin outside the toilet/shower room.
There was a constant vibration from the large fans / generator directly outside the window. This went on all night with the window shut. We raised this and were told ‘it’s for the whole complex so we can’t turn it off’ and “it’s next door and not on our property so we can’t do anything about it.” “You need to keep the window shut as it’s soundproof.” We did and it wasn’t.
We asked how to manage the heat in the room. The toilet/ shower was like a sauna and the rest of the room was very hot. The advice was turn off the thermostat (it wasn’t on), put on the airconditioner (all night!?) and open the window. See above re shutting the window against compressor noise.
There were no other rooms we could be moved to for our remaining stay of two nights and ‘housekeeping didn’t like it if guests stay single nights’, ‘if we have another room you’ll be the first to know’
All in all we felt dismissed. The inconveniences in the room and the terrible attitude of the staff were far short of expectations for a room of around $500 per night.
Congratulations to Marwan and his Czech colleague who helped get maintenance reduce the heat.
But a rip off for the price.

For the price, this place is fine. I will say that it presents slightly different in the photos online than in person but there’s nothing that wrong with the rooms. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms are warm in very cold conditions, we felt very safe and the staff are very quick to attend to your needs. A renovation especially in the hallways would be a big improvement, and the shower doesn’t get hot hot - just warm. Overall a decent stay.

Came to Banff for a couple getaway for my boyfriends birthday. On a tight budget and this hotel was a great price for what it is. Customer service was very kind and helpful with telling us which hikes to do and which lakes to paddle board. Walked into our room and it smelt very good, was nice and cool for the summer time, and great views. Beds were nicely made and hair free! Towels were clean and everything looked well maintained. Room was better than it looked in photos and we were very pleased. Overall the rooms look newly renovated and tidy. Staff is very kind and I would 100% recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Banff. Great location and overall an amazing stay!

Not quite sure what to say about this hotel. The rooms were adequate and the beds comfy. Walking distance to the town and public transport outside your door were also an added bonus.
I seemed to wake up every morning being bittten by something and the towels provided could barely cover a leg, let alone a whole body.
I also thought it was a little pricey for what it was, but I suppose they increase their rates that time of year.

We spent 3 night here just before Christmas and had a lovely stay.
The room: refurbished 306, and refurbished to a 5 star standard, beautiful, comfortable, quiet, well appointed room, we were the first in, and without a doubt we will be going back.
Staff - kind, considerate, helpful, lovely lovely staff, and we met several of them, the standard never slipped.
Location, a 5-10 minute walk from the center of Banff, perfect, with indoor heated parking.
Food - breakfast was next door, lots of choice, great area, and really delicious food.
Thank you it was the best stay of our holiday around Canada.

Stayed 3 nights. Room was spacious. AC didnt work well. Cleaning staff didn't clean room or make our beds during our stay. We had to ask for hand towels. Hotel needs upgrades badly. Balcony wasnt big enough to stand on or sit and have a drink or coffee. Chairs weren't provided anyway.

I stayed there for one night and witnessed nothing of the kind, people will smoke outside the hotel but there is little the company can do to prevent this.
