We had an absolutely fabulous time with our 2.5 year old and 6 month old at this resort. The staff were so friendly and all clearly love kids. We often sat in the same area of the buffet restaurant, and our "dos princesas" were doted on by our server. She was so kind and helpful and truly seemed thrilled to see our baby come in each day.

I was hesitant at first but finally put my 2.5 year old in the Petit Club and she was so well taken care of by Belgamma, Nancy and Angela I'm sorry I didn't do that sooner! It allowed me to visit the spa and have the best massage I have ever had (with Elizabeth). The Petit Club took her on a nature walk, to the beach to build sand castles (but not go near the water, don't worry!) and to their separate shaded wading pool. They took them to lunch so my husband and I had a few meals with only the baby to care for, making those the more relaxed meals of our trip. The baby club and petit club are basically exactly like our daycare at home, and I saw that on Saturday when they are closed, every piece of equipment and toy was outside being cleaned. I have no hesitation fully recommending the baby and petit club. The baby bottle room was fantastic - accessible 24 hours a day, we washed tupperware we brought and used to mix baby cereal in our room or to take snacks for our toddler from the buffet. It was stocked with Nestle formula, cereal (not baby cereal) and Gerber jarred baby food, as well as a fridge of milk, juice and yogurt. The only thing I'd say is that there was no baby cereal in the Baby Bottle Room, only at the Baby Corner in the main buffet, so when the main buffet is closed, you can't get baby cereal. But I just put some in a small tupperware to have in our room. Our room was set up with two pack n plays, one for each of our kids. The staff was fabulous when we had some moments where we needed a quick change of sheets or a new blanket. Rosario, who took care of cleaning our room, was fantastic. We used the laundry service twice (extra cost but reasonable) and that too was quick and fantastic when you have small kids. All in all, this was a perfect spot for us to bring two little kids.

Back from a great time at Club Med Ixtapa! We were overall very pleased with our time there, largely thanks to the GOs.

HUGE thanks to the baby club and mini club GOs; for those with littles, the kids club is THE most important part of a fun and relaxing vacation. We have a 1, 3, and 5 year old, and had we been entertaining or worrying about them (especially the baby!) we wouldn't have been able to relax. This is our second Club Med family trip, and it always amazes me how the GOs have so much energy and are able to remember each child's name and really make them each feel special.

This was our baby's first experience in a child care environment, and I felt super comfortable leaving him in the care of the caring and competent baby club GOs, including Liz, Belgamma, Ana, Narci, Lili, Angela, and Felipe. There were often more GOs than babies, and they strolled them through the property, giving them nature walks and beach time, they had their own (shaded!) baby pool, baby gym equipment, cribs, and more. Whenever I spied on him, he was happily playing or sitting on someone's lap. THANK YOU!

It was a slow week and we were able to put our 3.5 year old in mini club with our 5 year old. Trapeze and trampoline time, beach games, crafts, their own pool, and a different "show" every evening for the kids. They did not like kids club in Cancun last year, but they made friends and had a blast in Ixtapa. What a relief for us! Uli, Alice, Damian, Matt, and the whole team were amazing, keeping them busy and always making them laugh with their silly antics.

My husband did tennis every day and Allan and Juanito were great coaches and he learned a lot from them. He clearly improved his tennis game over the course of the week due to their guidance. Santiago in archery was also great and we appreciated that he let our little ones try shooting with his guidance during family time.

Kids club aside, I spent the first couple days comparing this resort to Cancun. The rooms in Ixtapa could use some updating; there weren't as many water sports; they were pretty strict and wouldn't let our almost 6 year old go kayaking or sailing with us (they were more flexible in Cancun); and there was really only one restaurant available at meal times. However, after a couple days I embraced the fact that this resort is smaller and easier to get around; we saw the same people over and over and were able to make friends, as were our kids; there were always beach and poolside chairs available; and English was the predominant language (when we were in Cancun, French tended to be the language of choice).

Just back from an extremely enjoyable week with the family. Kids loved the entire experience and are already adamant we return! The beach is amazing, the location and layout pleasing and the vibe cozy, food decent enough and the only exception are the rooms which are REALLY outdated and in dire need of investment. We spent so little time in the rooms as to make it passable, but be aware that this is their weakest link. The staff is amazing all around with very few exceptions, and they take great care to maximize the fun/experience for kids of all ages. Fun shows each night, lots of activities, and good attention to detail.
We were very impressed by the Chef du Village Sophia who is leading a great team and effort and infusing the experience with an updated/modern mentality vs. the old ways. She is clearly a rising star.
Special shout out to Layke who helped fix us up after a real problem with our room, Ulisses and Nitzia from Mini-club whom my 7 year old fell in love with, as well as Alex and Israel from Teen club who made our 11 and 12 year olds laugh all week long as well as refuse to eat with us once as they wanted to hang with their new posse.
We will be back!!

Club Med has something to offer everyone in your family! Our kids are 15 and 12 and hung out with kids around their age in the teens club most of the time - lots of fun activities, including beach volleyball, swimming, kayaking, archery, trapeze. The teens counselor, Bruno, kept the schedule flexible, to account for what the teens wanted to do as a group any given day. The game of the day and the game of the night included Mission Impossible, hide/seek, and scavenger hunts. By the end, the teens all created a group chat to stay in touch once they ended their time at Club Med.

For adults, highly recommend sailing, the group fitness classes, and Adventure Kayak (only on Tues afternoons). You will kayak out to Ixtapa Island as a group, which is a great workout and social activity too. You're accompanied by Club Med staff known as G.O.s (Miranda, Fernando, and Marco). If you want to spend more time on the island, you can take the local water taxi for only a few dollars round trip. There is also parasailing and banana boat rides, offered by locals down the beach. There is a show every evening put on by the G.O.s that are very entertaining, followed by dancing like you're at a club. You can participate as much or as little as you want, but recommend learning the line dances early on during your vacation.

Each room had sufficient space, lighting, and amenities, including mini-fridge, daily bottle water, and shampoo, soap, shower gel, lotion, hair dryer. Bring your own hair conditioner, if you need it. The best part of the rooms is that the AC is set to run 24/7. This is great given the heat/humidity outside. Rooms are generally quiet with the exception of birds in the morning and the hum of the AC.

This is our second Club Med experience (last year in Cancun) and we've had another great time. Get to know the other guests, you'll start recognizing other people. Finally, some of our best conversations and experiences were with the G.Os, who treat guests (known as G.M.s) like family. We loved spending time with Genesis, Chris, Bruno, Mercedes, Stephane (sommalier), and James Bond!

The baby club was excellent & clean ! We left our 19 months baby for 3-4 hours daily with them and we felt reinsure & secure to see her always happy there.
The girls who took take care of our daughter were lovely. They played in the sand, shallow pool (always keeping her dry and applying sunscreen)
Also played with dolls and trucks, and prepared her for nap time
Thanks Marcia, Angela and Narcy ! (They all have babies of their own, AND, they have been working there for as long as 5 to 11 years) They kept a Registered schedule all the milk times, naps, bathroom, eating.....
Felipe does a great job managing this Baby Club! Last but not least, the babysitter service was great. They sent us Ana, she took care and played a lot with our daughter while we were taking our showers and preparing for our dinner (90 min).

The tennis classes were great. Sebastian was a very good instructor, he always gives you a very good feedback and help you to improve. Thanks !

Front desk was really helpfull. We wanted an additional room, AND, instead (even better), Dominique & Antonio switched us to a double room steps away from the baby club

This is our fifth stay at a Club Med. We have not been to Ixtapa since 2013 (have been to Cancun in the years since then). I enjoyed coming back to Ixtapa because the resort is a really good size — you can walk from one end to the other white easily. The beach and pool are phenomenal, and having meals on the patio overlooking the ocean is really wonderful. The food is pretty decent for an all inclusive — the Mexican food is especially good, and there are plenty of options for kids.

As always, the staff are top notch and make the Club Med experience really special. Our daughter spent all week with Bruno in the Teens Club and had an absolutely wonderful time (thank you Bruno!). Mini, Eduardo, and the circus team also made her trip more fun. My husband enjoyed tennis with Octavio. Nathan from the food and beverage team always managed to find us and offer a friendly greeting while we enjoyed our food and drinks.

Unfortunately, someone in our party ended up testing positive for COVID (likely not contracted at the resort as he tested positive after only a few days there). However, the medical team was very helpful in getting him his own room to quarantine. This was not something any of us wanted to deal with while on vacation, but the medical team was sympathetic and helpful and made him as comfortable as possible while he recovered. And on this subject, we otherwise felt very COVID safe while staying here. Everyone adhered to mask requirements (and if they didn’t, the staff politely reminded them to mask up). The buffet and eating areas seemed clean, and with the exception of some kids occasionally not using tongs, people got their food in a safe way.

A few minor criticisms:

- The rooms really need to be upgraded (the family rooms at Cancun are 10x nicer and made these feel shabby by comparison), and the beds are so uncomfortable it was hard to sleep most nights.

- The fitness center has nice equipment but the room itself is a little stuffy and cramped.

- The drinks seemed to vary quite a bit in quality and strength (some margaritas felt like there was zero tequila in them).

All in all, we love Club Med for the variety of activities. We will definitely go back and hope in the near future Ixtapa can benefit from a few upgrades to make it an even better experience.

One of the most stunning spots for sunsets. Gorgeous, clean beaches with warm water were a delight.
Beautiful, comfortable, generously sized clean and cool room close to all the attractions. We had a separate room for the kids with room to store our stuff and a nicely designed shared bathroom.

Wonderful range of activities: soccer, tennis, volleyball, sailing, yoga, pickleball, zumba, aquafitness, and more. The fitness GOs are the best!! Junior, Mario, Chris, Jamie, Julia, Mitch, Rodrigo... you all ROCK!

I didn't practice circus, but I loved watching the team fly! Mini, Abraham, Inez, Kim, keep soaring!

My kids (age 13 and 15) enjoyed hanging out at the teen club, thanks to the amazing inclusive GOs, especially James Bond, Sara, and Bruno.
But if doing nothing is your thing, there are lots of comfy chairs and beds in the sunny beach or shade of a palapa or umbrella to enjoy.

The entertainment is good fun for the whole family. It's impressive to see the inventive costumes and the amazing number of characters our beloved GOs can play in one evening!
As for the dancing, let go of your inhibitions and embrace the choreographed line dancing with strangers of all ages and nationalities. Abba, the Village People, and Ricky Martin rule, along with their contemporary counterparts.

The many iguanas that ran across the lawns in the late afternoon never failed to raise my spirits.
It's worth a convenient $20 bike rental to explore the safe and well-groomed "ciclopista" that goes through a nature preserve down to Ixtapa and beyond.

We stayed 2 weeks and had a great time meeting guests from all over Mexico, California, Canada, and beyond (those were the major geographies represented).

Everyone was so nice and chill.
Food by Mario and the lovely restaurant staff is delicious! If you go fishing and catch bonita, ask Angel to make you ceviche!

Overall fine resort, but falling behind. Needs a deep cleaning, and bedding/furnishing need updating. Some of the staff (Sebastian) seem burned out or lazy. In comparison to other Club Med resorts, it seemed the staff was less enthusiastic, and the facilities less well maintained.

Our 7th visit to this amazing resort reminded us why we keep coming back. The resort is immaculately maintained. In particular, booking a suite offers an affordable indulgence in almost-luxury accommodations. Playa Quieta has a mellow surf, golden sand and is refreshingly uncrowded. As is its custom, Club Med provides a seemingly endless variety of recreational options. The food and beverages offer a diverse range of flavors and never seem to run out. Staff are focused and cheerful. In particular, Anna (one of the suite concierges) was especially helpful and attentive in assisting with arrangements and answering questions. If you are in need of some restorative time on a beach, you can’t do better.

Just returned from our 7th annual trip to
club Med Ixtapa. We were a group of families ranging from 4 years old to 65 years old, 43 people in all. The food is consistently good and service such as Amado and Marlene were great poolside. But over the years seems like they have fewer employees and there were longer waits at the bar and the one directly next to the pool was closed. The poolside entertainment the last day was the best as was the tequila tasting class we did. The chief of the village Sofia and the sports director Clara were both great. Rooms are dated and could use an upgrade but are large and connect you with your children while still giving privacy. My daughter enjoyed the kids club but they ran out of art supplies for activities and need to do more exciting things for the kids. We are co soldering returning for our family trip next year but hope some improvements are made before we come back!

We arrived the same day it occurred. At 4 p.m. we went to the ocean to swim after checking in. We walked to the beach from our room in Cielo and were greeted by a lifeguard who told us we could not enter the water. We continued our walk on the beach and a few seconds later met a guest who told us what had happened. Right after that another guest mentioned so the "coconut wireless" seemed to be very efficient. At dinner that night it was also mentioned. Everyone knew about the tragedy. Of course it was disappointing not to be able to swim however our time at Club Med Ixtapa was very fulfilling. We met some incredible people, guests and GO's and the best part was yoga with Uriel and chatting with Farides in the dining roo. Sailing team were fabulous and many other GO's too many to mention here. Just know that we appreciated all of you and your hard work as well as the cleaning, restaurant and landscaping staff.
