I have been reading reviews of this hotel all day getting a sad laugh or two. Though I was not robbed like Harvis Kramer who wrote a review in August, I do feel like I was taken advantage of.

I stayed at the Nassau Palms from 12/29 through 1/4/06. I was billed a $12 energy charge for each day of my stay. I find this ridiculous since the power went out 5 times, there was a water stoppage on 12/31 and my electronic room key malfunctioned four times. In addition, the toilet felt like it would come through the wall everytime I sat on it. I'm an average body type. When I protested the charges, the 'manager' looked at me like I had three heads citing the charges as mandatory to which I replied, 'Mandatory if there is actually energy running through the hotel.'

While I didn't mind the beach, I didn't feel particularly safe at night or walking around alone. The men are rather verbally aggressive and it can be disconcerting.

To say I would rather stay in a hostel is a severe understatement. In a brief aside, I don't recommend Nassau if you are in a gay relationship. The area is super straight and religious. There are no nightlife options for gay couples or singles for that matter. Thank you for your time

I'd booked via hotels for 3 nights there. We arrived at 9PM on Dec. 26, 2005 and were assigned a room that had not even been serviced. Then we get reassigned to another room which just smelled horrible and my friend got bug bites. So, we complained and checked out by 10:30 AM the next morning. At the time, I spoke with the reservation manager there and we agreed that I would only be charged for the one night's stay and that I need to talk to hotels to get things straightened out. We checked into another hotel in the Cable Beach area. We paid a little bit more...$40/night more...BUT the quality was exponentially better. Now, I am back in the States and talking with hotels.com about this and finding out that the hotel staff is not keeping their word. I am told by the reservation manager at the hotel that she was not even working that day. What do I believe? I don't know but a couple of things are for sure....1. Nassau Palm Resort & Conference Center is DIRTY and STINKS; 2. It is a complete rip off place; and 3. The staff are not honest in their dealings with the guests and the hotel is not doing an honest business by any far stretch of the imagination.

This is probably the worst hotel ever imaginable. I traveled with 3 other girls and we were absolutely horrifed. When you walk in its nothing what you would expect with the word "resort" in the name. When they finally gave us our keys we went up to the room and it was open with un-made beds and trash. I was the one to go down stairs and ask for a new room (which i was in line to do b/c others were doing the same).

The food was not great and the restruants in the hotel are far from it. At one point we left the table because of the length of time for service and what we experience walking into the kitchen. The first night we all had bug bites and they continued throughout the week. It was very uncomfortable. The area is not safe at all as three of us got chased down the street one night. The rooms smells and there are strains everywhere! We had to call for towels everyday.

One day all of our 4 keys did not work which to me was strange. When I went to the front desk to get them re-activated, the front desk told me i would have to be escorted up to my room with a man that didn't even look like he worked there. I declined the offer and ran up to my friends as quickly as possible. This is no paradise and we spent most of our 7 days at other hotels to drown out ours.

I would not offer this place to my worst enenmy!

Don't go there !
This Hotel is located in the worst part of the Island.
The name "Palm Resort" creates misunderstanding.
This is NOT a resort on the beach: It's a very old ex Holiday In on the street. It's close to the Nassau Harbour and you need to cross a noisy and dangerous street to get to the public beach.

The beach is dirty and the sand is rare (rocks everywhere) while other beaches in the island are beautiful.

After the check-in they gave me a room key, I went there, open the door and surprise, other people was there.

Then they gave me a room over the pool bar, which is in reality a night club with loud music till 04:00 AM all the weekends.

I couldn't sleep. They couldn't give me another room, so I spent the night at the close Quality Inn (much better)

I protested, the manager was unreachable for all the week, they pretended not to understand or remember, they refused to refund me....

The hotel is old, dirty, stinky, the restaurant was sad and poor.

Orbitz rate this hotel 3 stars. Must be a mistake, this is 1 to 2 star max.

After reading so many bad reviews, we wondered if this place would be terrible. We read how someone had found a pubic hair in their bed. We checked our sheets on our two beds....one bed was perfectly clean, the other had a few hairs. All in all, you can probably find a few hairs on any hotel bed but noone ever looks. We asked for new sheets and we got them within 15 minutes.

The hotel has two pools, both look decent. But the pool that is farther from the lobby had a layer of film and/or bugs on it, making it completely unusable. the pool closer to the lobby is fine.
Other than that, the hotel is close to the beach...the beach is fine for swimming and snorkeling, but not so great for just laying out. Its also close to restaurants and fun spots like Senior Frogs. The hotel is not luxury, but if you are looking to stay someplace cheap for a few days its fine. If you can get super cheap rate its probably worth staying there...otherwise stay somewhere else.

We stayed at this hotel from November 30, 2005 through December 11, 2005. I have to admit I read these reviews before our trip and was stressed and apprehensive before even arriving. We were informed of the $9.25/per person daily energy and maid charge that was not included in our Orbitz package price ( after speaking to Orbitz, this is supposedly disclosed in some of the 'hotel information' links during the online booking process - I did not remember seeing it). Seeing as we were going to be there for 11 days I asked if there was any chance of a discount. We were told to speak to the manager in the morning. Mr Williams was readily available and very understanding and kind. We were given a 3 day discount on the energy charge and were upgraded to a poolside suite. I really do not understand the majority of the reviews on this site. The hotel was clean, not 'stinky', and the hotel bar was only open until 10pm (not 4 am - that is a bar and grill that is in the hotel, but not owned by it). The manager could always be seen walking around and paying attention to detail. I did not even see so much as a cigarette butt on the grounds. Yes, some of the building is older than the rest, but we also walked down those hallways and never noticed anything amiss. You do have to cross the street to get to the beach, but when the light is right the drivers on the road will wait and wave you across. The beach did have sand - and some rocks - but, most of the pricier hotels have their sand shipped in from somewhere else. The hotel food (at the hotel owned restaurant) was very good and not any pricier then the Fish Fry or most Downtown eateries. The hotel staff was always readily available, friendly, and helpful. We did not have anything stolen or even moved out of place. Yes, there are warnings about theft at 'other' hotels, but a bit of common sense goes along way. This was the best vacation we have ever taken and this hotel was a big part of it. I would recommend it to other people, and I do hope to go back soon.

I just came home after 5 days getaway in Bahamas. first three days i spent in Atlantis. for last two days i reserved in this hotel.I checked in and checked out within few minutes after entering the room. I travelled extensively and this is my first worst experience with any hotel. Dirty, filthy carpets and i could not stay even for a few minutes and the environment of this hotel is not safe. I booked this hotel through Hotwire as they have categorized this hotel as 2.5 rating but in reality this is not even 0.5. I walked to Hilton colonial and booked a room and checked in and felt so relief even though i know i was going to loose the money for 2 nights money. I did not expect a luxury or any great amenities but cleanliness and safety but both are not present in this hotel.

Before I offer details about the hotel, I want to note that our negative experience was shared by other guests in the hotel. We met three other couples/ groups who were very unhappy with their stay. This hotel is a joke on the island. When we told cab drivers and locals where we were staying, they all laughed or expressed sympathy! Unacceptable!

My fiancée and I recently took a trip to the Bahamas and made the unfortunate mistake of staying at the Nassau Palm Resort…. To say that it is a resort is a big joke. Upon entry to the hotel, I was shocked. It looked nothing like the pictures on the websites. The pool was filthy. We literally could not see the bottom for the first few days. The first room we were assigned to was disgusting. There were stains everywhere on the carpet- It looked like a map of the Bahamas was urinated into the carpet and allowed to dry. Seriously. The bathroom was no better. There were used bottle caps on the floor and it looked like it needed a good sweeping. Most shocking were the notices that the hotel posted about safety basically warning us to lock the door lock, bar lock, safety lock, chain lock and lock box. Not a good sign.

When we complained to our travel agency, we were told that there were no available hotels for certain days of our trip and we were forced to stay at the Nassau Palm. The hotel agreed to change our room. They switched our room to one that was only better because it was larger. Service sucked- We had to call everyday for new towels. The only thing the maids did was make up the bed. No bathroom service. The water in the shower was never hot… not even warm. We had a power outage- and yet we were charged about $9 dollars per person per day for energy and maid service!

Do not stay at this hotel. Do not waste your money. The truth is, if you want a hotel that is decent, this one doesn’t even come close. It will ruin your time on the island.

There is nothing good I can say about this racket. First of all the Bahamian Govt. and or ministry of health, sanatation should come in and take a look around, if they are not being "paid off" they should shut the doors for of this place until certain sanatation health criteria are met.
How anyone could book this place upon reading what other members say, only means one thing, they deserve what they get or are happy to be living in this type of surroundings.
How Hotwire/Priceline could ever continue booking this roach/ant/flea trap only tells you one thing about their company, or who runs it. Lets get the CEO of one of these internet travel organizations to stay at this place for a couple of nights and see how fast this place wouls be removed from their listings.
First of all to even compare this place to a RESORT is ludcrious. This place is a NASTY,DIRTY,FILTHY, BUG RIDDEN DUMP, WITH EMPLOYEE'S that are no better than the place they work for. There is nothing positive about this place.
I could go on and on with minute details, but hopefully you will get the drift.
Stay away, save your life ( someone tried to open the sliding glass door at 4;00am. Thank-God we where sleeping with one eye open!.
We checked out the next day.
Stay away!! save your $$$ and book a different hotel.

I'm just gonna tell you straight up the way this place is.
First day first thing, front desk very unprofessional we were not greeted at all, very rude.

This place is very low class, Poor looking, Dirty and all the stair ways, elevators and hallways had very bad smell.

The curtains did not close all the way in the room so anyone across the building could see inside, not safe.

The sheets smelled like pure urine.
The rugs smelled really bad too.

OH my goodness, the pool so foggy. The gym if you want to call it that, ok i don't think so, you would not catch me working out in that place that looked like a dirty laundry mat and the 3 machines they had there where from the 70s
The last night, we could not sleep because we were itching so bad, we are almost positive it could have been bed bugs.

At the end, I had to pay a 10.00 phone bill when i only made 2 local calls and she claimed i did 11 ---, i'm very upset .
I will never, too bad bahamas is beautiful and a hotel that claims to be a "resort" ruins everything. They should not even be listed.
