My husband and I were at Plantana from February 13 to February 18. It is a beautiful, low-density condo development on the best stretch of 7-Mile Beach. Even though they were at full capacity, there was lots of room to stretch out at the resort and the beach. The beach has beautiful, silky sand and the ocean is perfect. Our condo unit (#40) was beautifully appointed and had a lovely view of the ocean over the grounds and the pool. Having a washer/dryer in the unit was much appreciated. The staff at Plantana are wonderful and extremely helpful.

We just returned from a week at Plantana and could not be happier we found this place! The staff are lovely, accommodating and helpful. The grounds are well maintained, beautiful flowers/landscaping, clean beach. Plenty of chairs at the beach/pool and we loved the box of floats they have for guests to use. This stretch of beach has to be one of the best on SMB. Secluded from the cruise ship crowds and water sports, coral for snorkeling right off the coast, so much oceanfront that you didn’t even see half the guests staying at the property. The complex was very quiet and serene.
Unit 25 is immaculate. You can tell it’s been recently upgraded and it’s beautifully decorated. Our only wish was that it was on the ground floor - the oceanfront ground floor units are definitely the best. But as you can see in the pictures, we still had an amazing view and it was a 30 second walk to the beach so no complaints.
The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking utensils and they have grills onsite. The condo only had salt and pepper so we did have to buy a lot so that we could make breakfast and lunch every day. We wished the pantry would’ve had a few condiments in it as it was a shame to have to buy all of that for just 5 days and then leave it behind. But I understand in this day and age things that can be opened likely can’t be left for the next guest, unfortunately. Overall, it was so nice to be able to make breakfast and lunch just steps from the beach.
There also seemed to be a lot of regulars staying there and they were all so friendly and provided great restaurant recommendations. We can’t wait to return and hope to be a ‘regular’ some day :)

I almost never write reviews but I have to write one for Plantana. We stayed with them 4 years ago and then again last week. Simply stated Plantana is the perfect place to stay. The rooms are well maintained and lovely with plenty of space for our family. The kitchens are perfectly stocked with everything one might need to cook and serve meals/drinks. Housekeeping kept our rooms immaculate. The washer/dryer allowed us to pack lightly. Our 3rd floor ocean view was spectacular.
The grounds are beautifully maintained as is the pool and beach area. The beach was quiet, and though public had the atmosphere of being our own private beach given the location (no large resorts next door). One can head down the beach to Westin for more people/crowds and activities if desired. There are many restaurants and shops in walking or quick bus/taxi ride distance.
The Plantana staff is absolutely fantastic...they respond right away to any request or need for information, provide excellent guidance (having groceries delivered, where to eat, how to get a taxi, days to go to town when cruise ships are not in port etc). The location speaks for itself...a gorgeous beach with incredible water, pool, hammock, beach chairs, umbrellas, and sunsets. We will be back again and again!

We stayed in unit 15 at Plantana for a week in June 2022. We cannot wait to go back next year!! We are a family comprised of two adults, a 13 year old, and a 10 year old. The villa was fabulous! Very nicely decorated! It had everything we needed and more! The kids room had two queen size beds, so the kids didn’t have to fight over beds, This unit had a walk out to the beach which was so convenient. It was about 10 steps to the pool and another 10 steps to the one row of beach chairs/umbrellas. It’s the best beach setup of any resort on Seven Mile beach. Lots of beach toys and floats to use! The beach front is very wide there is so only one row of beach setups. They had showers for body or feet when coming off the beach and you had a bucket of fresh water at your door to again get sand off. Housekeeping came daily and they had a daily beach towel exchange.
The sand was beautiful and soft (not rocky!) We snorkeled right off our beach and saw sea turtles, stingrays and lots of fish. The beach wasn’t crowded at all. The sunsets were beautiful.

We just finished our week long vacation at Plantana and just WOW! Plantana is truly a hidden gem. The property itself is gorgeous, especially since it’s in a prime location on Seven Mile Beach. The grounds were very well maintained. We noticed staff every morning making sure it looked pristine. The beach was beautiful and never crowded - we could always find a spot in the shade under an umbrella. It sometimes felt like we were the only ones there, making it feel like our own little oasis. We stayed in unit 38, which was perfect for us because it was a 2.5 bedroom condo with a great view. You really can’t go wrong with any of the oceanfront condos - we noticed they all have an awesome view! The staff were so friendly and helpful and one of the perks we loved was housekeeping was provided / included every day, which you don’t see often in condos. While there is no restaurant or bar on property, you can easily walk to the little grocery store across the street for items or just order groceries in advance. We ordered them in advance, and once the groceries arrived for us, Plantana was so helpful in that they put all the groceries away for us in our condo so all of our food and drinks were there waiting for us when we arrived. This was a nice added touch the staff did for us, which we very much appreciated. This place is absolutely perfect for families needing more space and a quieter location. My two young kids (5 and 2) had an absolute blast here. We will definitely be coming back!

Disclaimer: We had to cancel our much anticipated first trip to GC due to our conference being cancelled & uncertainties surrounding the coronavirus/travel restrictions that might cause problems for us flying from California. I began looking into canceling everything booked & this was a large sum of money I knew that my contract stated I wouldn't get refunded. This is totally in their rights to keep per the contract we sign for most any condo rental. Thankfully & graciously, the Plantana board made exceptions to their cancellation rules due to this whole virus mess & we will get a full refund! In uncertain times & with lots of money being lost all around, we are so thankful! I will definitely consider staying here when we DO finally get to visit GC in the future!

Our last stay in Grand Cayman was 25 years ago so we were unsure of where we wanted to stay. We could not have been more pleased with our choice of Plantana! Staff was helpful even before our arrival, corresponding by email and helping us plan our stay. Unit # 40 was well appointed, clean and comfortable. Located on the best part of 7 mile beach we were close enough to restaurants and attractions, but far enough from the hustle and bustle of larger hotels. We now look forward to our next trip to Grand Cayman- next year - hopefully at Plantana.

We have happily been staying at Plantana for several years now. After staying in numerous hotels and condos over the last 20+ years, we think Plantana is consistently the best value. The beach and sea bed are sandy, with no ironstone, which is not always the case on SMB. The grounds are pretty and well-maintained as is the pool area and outdoor furniture. We know that everything in the condo will be perfect and if not, problems will be immediately resolved by the friendly, reliable and competent staff. We've already reserved for next year!

We’ve stayed several places on Cayman but since we’ve found Plantana, we’ve called it “home” for our Cayman vacation. There are so many wonderful things about Plantana. First, the units and the entire complex are beautiful! The grounds are meticulously maintained. Every unit we’ve stayed in has been beautifully done and is well stocked. The housekeeping services are second to none! My second favorite thing about Plantana is the staff. They are incredibly friendly and helpful and we see several of them each year when we visit. My third favorite thing is the location. Plantana is perfectly situated on Seven Mile Beach. It’s close to the many restaurants (walking distance), grocery stores, and places like the Westin if you plan do any activities through Red Sail Sports. We enjoying taking long walks in the early mornings to start our day and Plantana’s location gives us perfect access to walk in so many different directions while still being safe on sidewalks. I can’t recommend this place enough!

We had a fantastic week at Plantana #25 which directly over-looked the ocean and the pool. The unit was beautifully updated and very comfortable for a family of five (three girls, ages 20, 20 and 18). The Kitchen was well stocked and they had plenty of detergent, dishwasher pods, and soap/lotion. The beds and furniture were comfortable, the screen porch overlooking the ocean was perfect for morning coffee, the family room and dining room were the perfect space for our family and the unit was quiet day and night. We loved the beach - it was absolutely perfect - and not crowded like the beaches at the Westin, Kimpton and Ritz. I highly recommend Plantana #25 and would definitely return.

Hello! I am just now seeing this message and I hope my answer is not too late. But there was plenty of beach in this area of the 7 Mile Beach. The beach erosion occurs near the southern part of the 7 Mile Beach. Hope your family enjoy Grand Cayman and the beautful beach. =]
