We stayed here for just over a week in February. The hotel is lovely, BUT be aware it is built on a big hill. If you get a lower level room or you are reasonably fit then it's not an issue and the staff will try to accommodate your needs.
Talking of which, the staff are fantastic and in typical Thai fashion, cannot do enough for you. A special mention has to go to Marko, Michael and Nadia who were all brilliant, but to be honest, everyone there was great.
If I have to pick hairs, the hotel is on a busy road junction so there is some road noise, but the upside to the location is the view of Kata Beach.
We were not the only English people there, but were definitely in the minority, as the majority of guests were Russian/ Eastern European. There is a strong Russian presence in the area and this is reflected in the dining in town but there are plenty of good Thai restaurants to try.

Have chosen this hotel because we wanted to stay between Small and Big Kata beaches - which worked perfectly since it is located right in between. The only difference was that the road to Small Kata is hilly so you have to go either up or down all the way, so if you're not really enthusiastic about exercising ))) then use the hotel's shuttle which is provided several times a day. Big Kata is very easy to reach on foot.
Good pool (although you can find better ones in Kata). Good breakfast. Restaurant is very good; first we tried to find something cheaper for lunch / dinner, but eventually ended up dining in the hotel's restaurant which is way better then whatever we could find close by. Spacious room with a nice balcony (had romantic family dinners there) and a perfect view. Steep steps not a problem since you can always ask for a shuttle to take you up to your room. Staff always helpful and generally flawless.
Now the cons:
1. The water temperature in the shower was very unstable which is very annoying and even dangerous, especially if you're staying with small kids
2. The lighting in the room was very poor, very dark in the evenings even with all the lights on
3. We once ordered grilled meat for dinner which happened to be not fresh. Asked to change it, but the new one was the same. Actually ordering meat in Thai restaurant is always a risk, but for the restaurant of that level it was a disappointment

I'm staying in building 6 and I absolutely love the hotel. The staffs are very very friendly. They always say "sawasdee ka" with a big smile and ready to help. Their pool is a great size and the food both at the pool and their restaurant are definitely top-notch.It's so tasty that I stop by every day, and the prices are very acceptable. They have many promotions. There are many many stairs to reach my room but the view is worth it. Plus, they have a free pickup service which I always use whenever I don't feel like walking. I also like their breakfast because of their variety. They provide bread, Asian dishes, Western dishes, soups, juices, coffee and tea, cheeses and the cold cuts. My most favorite is their Asian ones because I just love trying local dishes whenever I travel. They also make fresh customized egg dishes which I love. I will definitely return here. The beaches are also in walking distance.

All reviews will mention the stairs, there are plenty but many hotels in Kata are built into the hills.
Having said that the views are spectacular and I would gladly climb to the top to experience views like this.
The rooms are clean, the bed is very comfortable and the additional touch of robes and slippers is just wonderful.
Breakfast is fantastic, so much to choose from and the Thai choices are delicious. I can’t fault breakfast here at all and would recommend to include breakfast in your room choice.
The restaurant ‘Cattleya’ is sensational!! Friday and Monday nights there is live music and the Thai food is some of the very best I have eaten.
Definitely a must if you are staying at this resort.
Happy hour must be mentioned as well. The drinks at Orchidacea are well priced but during happy hour, it’s buy 1 get 1 free. A better deal you will not get anywhere else!
And they make the best Long Island Iced Tea in the Phuket!!
The pool is large, plenty of lounge chairs and the entire resort is well maintained.
Orchidacea Resort is located close to shops, restaurants, bars and Kata and Kata Noi beaches...everything that you could possibly need is within close proximity.
For a much quieter and laid back vibe compared to Patong, Kata is the go to area.
Orchidacea Resort has exceeded all of my expectations and I recommend it for exceptional value for money.

We stayed here for 6 nights in January 2020 and were upgraded to a superior room with views over the pool and out to sea. The staff were absolutely fabulous in every way; warm, friendly and so helpful. we tried the Thai cookery course which was excellent; we had a chef to ourselves who guided us through the recipes to produce a fabulous meal to eat. The breakfast buffet was delicious with lots of choice and variety - would like to see a few more vegetarian options each day. great location and easy to walk to the two local beaches and explore places like the Big Buddah Temple. We had a fabulous stay and would like to congratulate all the staff on their kindness and attention to detail

The hotel is ideally located between 2 beaches; Kata beach and Kata Noi beach, which is very convenient. The room is clean and well equipped, and the territory is very well-groomed. The staffs are indeed exceptional friendly, courteous, and always willing to help. The pool area is large, and there is a good number of sun loungers. The food at their Cattleya restaurant is top notch, very tasty and affordable. They have live music in the evening (on Mondays and Fridays as far as I noticed) at their restaurant's terrace and it's such a good ambiance. Definitely recommend this hotel!

Stayed here for 2 weeks and believe me it is not a 4* hotel, but barely a 3 stars one. Cleaning service is not done properly, no refill on shower gel ecc, no total change of sheets in 2 weeks, only towels! Breakfast is good quality but not much of a variety and such a slow refill it makes you give it up. Stairs are a nightmare, doors are old wooden doors that make noise every time there is wind, no window that opens, no insect net on the balcony door so the only option to cool the air was to have the air con 24/7. Internet is slow and they have many rooters so the connection continuously passes from a rooter to another leaving you with no signal every 3 minutes. Also, if you want to shower later in the evening prepare to do it with cold water. The position is wonderful, 5 min walking distance to both Kata and Karon if you are willing to do the hills. Late check out not available (we have the transfer at 19:00) but they said room is sold so i imagined the hotel is full but booking showed availability…

I loved my stay at Orchidacea! The location is ideal - less than 5 minutes walk from Kata Beach but up the hill so you have amazing views and are away from the bustle of the main strip. The room was very comfortable and had everything I needed, and the breakfast buffet was delicious, with tons of options including Thai food, fruit, pastries, eggs, and meat. The pool was large and the perfect temperature, and at the perfect spot to jump in after getting sweaty on your walk up from the beach. The staff were accommodating and friendly. I also loved the restaurant located at the bottom of the resort so I could get a bite to eat without wandering the busy streets. This hotel is not wheelchair accessible - even if you get driven up the hill to your room, you will have to navigate some stairs. And if you don't want to call a ride every time you go to your room, you will have to walk up 3-5 flights of stairs (with the payoff of a great view). I highly recommend staying here!

Lovely room with stunning views of Kata Beach and bay.
The room was really nice with a very comfortable bed and a well done bathroom.
What we didn’t know and it may have been in the fine print is that there are around 170 step up to the room. Normally feeling hot and exhausted upon entering the room but the air conditioning (which could not be left on) takes at least an hour to cool the room down.
The internet is very frustrating having to log back in almost every time one wanted to use it.
The meal at the reassurance was quite disappointing, much better options available 50 meters from the resort.
The room was really nice with a very comfortable bed and a well done bathroom.

I had a great stay, staff were all super friendly! Front desk speaks fluent English, and are also knowledgeable of other languages. Location was great, walking distance from my restaurants and the beach, also has a convenience store right across the street where you can also find tuk tuk drivers posted up. The room was clean, and had an amazing view of the beach, which I really enjoyed. The rooms can be a far walk but they offer a shuttle to drop you off if you are unable or don't feel like walking up to many stairs.

Yes, the beach towels are in the room and you can also take them from the reception.
