Best trip ever!!!!!! We are coming to Dee Lake for years, but this year was the best Fishing trip we ever had. My husband, our grandson and I stayed in July for a week. The guys fished every Day and our grandson kept track how many fish they cached, total of fish 112. Some 12-14”. Most of the time we are staying in one of the Cottages and we just love it. The Cottages are wonderful, quiet, fabulous view and relaxing. The owners and staff are very friendly and welcoming, they always there to help. A little different from most wilderness resorts, Dee is a bit rougher and more rustic. Cabin was great, supplied with wood for the wood stove. Beds were clean and comfortable. Lots of dishes pots pans etc. The overall vibe of the place is laid back and chill.. The host Dave is quite the character and really fun to chat with. As for fishing well... Wasn't great, lol but that can be said about anyplace given the fish may or may not be biting.. Channel is shallow and almost everybody hit bottom with their prop, including myself so wasnt happy about that.. And as there is no lighting at night... Holy Blackness.. Overall I recommend t and will be back. whether its camping or just fishing and shoot the bull with Dave..

We booked Cabin #39 for a 3 night family getaway in early July. We had done all of our research about the lake and the resort so we knew what to expect when we got there. One of the few surprises was the drive from Winfield to the resort. The first few kilometers of the road had an asphalt surface that was brutally pocked with large potholes. When we finally reached the end of the asphalt surface the gravel road was 100 times easier to navigate. The road is wide enough that you don't have to worry about meeting oncoming traffic like a logging truck.
This is a wilderness resort but it is a short drive from the Okanagan Valley floor so it is a popular area. Once we arrived there were plenty of other visitors around to socialize with. The resort is easy to find with proper signage. The reception desk/general store was very straight forward, the staff/managers were very friendly and helpful.
Cabin 39 is one of the larger cabins available at the resort which we needed for our 3 generation family of six; 2 seniors, 2 adults and 2 children. The bedding was perfect for us; 3 bedrooms with two queen and 2 single beds. One of the single beds was in our queen room which was not how the cabin was advertised. Perhaps a previous guest moved it there and we just left it that way. The cabin is relatively new with a nice cottage decor and most of the modern conveniences you would expect such as a full-size refrigerator, propane stove/oven, electric lighting, full bathroom with hot water, bathtub, shower, sink, mirror and toilet. The living room was well furnished and even had a TV but it was only a 14 inch tube set and I doubt it had any reception. I don't know anyone who would need TV in the wilderness!
There was a large wooden deck attached to the cabin which was a great place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee and watch the sunrise over the lake. The cabin had a table and chairs/benches. We brought our own lawn chairs too as this wasn't advertised, so we had lots of seats for us and our friends who were camping in the resort. This deck was the centre of all our social activity! We had a total of 13 people in our party including those that were camping in the resort and we could all fit comfortably on the deck, playing guitars, singing, enjoying a propane fire ring with side tables for drinks, etc. There is also a fire pit area below the deck which accommodates several chairs. Campfires were banned in the region on our second day so we only used the pit area on the first night.
This cabin also had a private dock shared with cabin 40. I brought my fishing boat and appreciated having it docked nearby for easy access and security. I'm told there are plenty of rainbow trout in the lake but I wasn't able to catch any. My daughter hooked a small one, but it wiggled off at the side of the boat. Dee Lake is connected to three other lakes; Island, Deer and Crooked Lake. I explored all four lakes but due to the weeds in Deer and half of Crooked Lake we didn't troll the entire time. Overall, these lakes are picturesque and interesting. There were a lot of loons around! They were finding the fish!
The space between the cabin and the lake had a lot of long grass but paths and trails were available to get to and from the dock. On a few occasions a deer walked right past us while we were enjoying the deck.
I would recommend this resort and Cabin 39 to anyone looking for an escape from the city, the internet or the heat of the valley. The only reason I didn't give this property a rating of 5 is because the barbecue grill was badly rusted. We used a grill from our friends' camper so we didn't have to put our meat on the rust. We reported this to the resort managers so hopefully they have replaced the grill since our visit.

This is a letter I just wrote. I think it should be public knowledge that the water supply isn't drinkable. The letter: Hi. I was staying in the heritage lodge with my family this weekend. I called prior to ask if the water was chlorinated in the lodge or if I needed to bring bottled water. The lady said it wasn't chlorinated and on tap, so I didn't bring bottled water. This is in fact what I was told, which makes the following situation very upsetting to me. That Saturday I noticed a bleach smell in the tap water, but it wasn't so bad in the morning. I had drank a pot of coffee from the tap in the lodge today(Sunday) before check out, then I became very sick on our way home. My husband before realizing I had become sick yet asked about the bleach smell in the water when bringing the key for the lodge back and discovered that bleach had been pour into the water supply on Saturday and the water is not to be consumed at anytime, but just used for dishes and showers. There wasn't a notice that stated not to drink the water in the lodge or on the website. I had even called specifically to ask about the water. I had vomited twice on the way home and felt awful. I am so upset that my health had been jeopardized on a relaxing weekend get away. It's pure negligence of the owners to not let their guests know that the water is undrinkable. I would like some resolution to this situation. Hopefully I'll receive a resolution on this matter Other than that we enjoyed our stay, but the negligence of my families health by not putting up a warning sign by our faucet was unacceptable.

DONT DRINK THE WATER! I wish we were told this before we came. sewer backed up in someone's place we got to smell it as they worked on it. road was very bad shape. pot holes for miles. the staff didn't really help us with anything, never even showed us to our cabin. after we found it ,it was less then clean, smaller then what we expected.no wifi, power was on and off the whole time we were there. for the cost I would have not done it if I could do it over.

To: Rich S. Spokane We are sorry to hear of your experience at Dee Lake Resort, we take all our comments posted seriously. Yes, we did have a septic issue this winter and our staff was very busy correcting the situation. All our guests were on a 5 month winter lease this past winter with the exception of 1 nightly rental, you must have rented privately, as I do not have your name or address in our records. We had no out of province guests this past winter. When you rent privately it is the owners responsibility to have their cottage clean for you, however we are here for all guests if you have any questions or need assisting. If you would kindly to take the time to let us know the cottage number you stayed in, we will bring your concerns to that cottage owners attention; our owners that rent privately also take their guests comments seriously. We agree about your comment about the road up to Dee Lake Resort, unfortunately all mountain roads take a beating through out the winter, which is completely out of our control. The road has now been fixed. It is mentioned on our website that our water is not potable, sorry that you missed that. We also post signs above the sinks in all our rental cottages, however can not guarantee the same in the privately rented cottages, as that is the responsibility of each individual cottage owner. As for your concerns about there being no wifi at your cottage, this is a wilderness resort, however if needed we do have wifi available for you at the office and in that general area. We planned our family reunion last March for August. We chose Dee lake because it had the dates available we wanted. Not knowing what to expect we arrived to find the cottages to be first class. I might add that the road to the resort is terrible. The water is not potable so you have to bring your own. The cottages are comfortable and come equipped including BBQ and firewood for the stove. Dishes etc are a bit of a mix and match but by and large of decent quality. There is plenty to do outdoors. Bring mosquito repellent!

My wife and I booked Dee Lake Resort for our 100 person wedding and we are both very pleased we did. Nested along the shores of the Dee lake chain the environment is indescribably beautiful. Our guests were pleased for many reasons about the accommodations ranging from cleanliness to comfort.
The crowning jewel on this resorts wide range of services are the managing staff. Jan, Michelle and their adult children were completely committed to making our event as organized and well supported as possible! They set up tents, tables and chairs for the ceremony and reception, kept all the cabins and cottages spotless and stocked with firewood without being asked, ordered extra ice, even helped deliver the bride by boat for the "I do's". There was no ask too much for this fantastic team and we will be forever grateful for their help in making our day perfect. As a career hospitality manager I found Jan, Michelle and their families "at your service" attitude unparalleled.
This place is a "no brainer" for a large event and we are already planning return visits for anniversaries and family time!!!

We were glad to book 'last minute' a quite cabin by a lake in August. Efficient reception.
Our cabin with full plumbing was on front of Dee Lake with a nice sun in the morning.
However our cabin, built 10 to 15 years ago, would have benefited of a microwave oven a toaster or a dishwasher. Light bulbs had to be replaced and the bed was squeaky. The landscaping and gardening was also a bit needy.
Great fishing for rainbow trouts!

I couldn't say more about Dee Lake Resort. Absolutely a beautiful place and loved the fishing. Several great spots for fly fishing and trolling along the 4 lakes which are attached to each other. Hospitality was over the top, owners are very accommodating. Very clean resort and am looking forward to our next stay. If you are a candy lover, they have the best candy selection!!
