we stayed here in a twin room end of july into august,5 nights, lovely room with all mod cons, cleaned well everyday ,fresh towels etc on a daily basis.i booked this via the hotel website, got it cheaper than thru the other package sites,£202 for 2 people, twin roomwhat a bargain.got out flights from gatwick with the airline that has lots of orange and white planes, lol, check their prices daily if ur going to barcelona,£320 return for 2 people, another bargain.wer were in tower 2,nice and quiet at night, allthough we couldnt connect to the wi fi,only in the lobby, and strangely enough i could pick it up over the road when i went for a coffee n croissont at the coffee shop directly opposite.another little bargain, coffe n croissont 1 euro 80 cents. the marina, las ramblas, beach etc very close,we walked down to las ramblas every night.just go out the front entrance of the hotel and turn left n follow on down ,then turn left again, you will come to the colombus statue, turn left again, there is las ramblas, cross over on right for the marina.the metro inbarcelona is very good, and easy to use,u must visit sagrada famillia, its stunning,u can get the metro straight to it from the one near the hotel, the same for park guell, its lovely there, but u will walk alot,so take plenty of water, theres several supermarkets up the road from the hotel, bout ten min walk or so ,turn right as u go out the hotel and keep going up.all in all a lovely stay at the auto hogar hotel, and a great visit to barcelona, blue skys, sunshine and warm the entire time.p.s the air conditioning worked fine!

I'm fairly easy to please and understand the concept of 'getting what you pay for' but this hotel is a waste of money. Even if you can sleep well with jackhammers and rubbish collection outside your window (which i can) the way the manager treats the customers was my issue. The wifi 'wasn't working' when we arrived and we were told it was 'being fixed'. We then found out from other guests thats what they had been saying for a few days. We waited patiently because we understand that these things happen but by the second night of not being able to book the following days activities without wifi, I went down to ask for help in booking something and the response i got was appalling. A combination of "we cant because thats not the company we work with" to "go to the internet cafe" and "you don't pay for wifi - its complimentary" and "what if the light was broken?" was making no sense to me. They couldn't understand the importance of wifi to a traveller who books accommodation because it advertises as having wifi and relying on it to book activities for the next day. I tried to explain that I understand things sometimes don't work but they should then try to help their guests rather that talk about us while we're standing there in spanish thinking we didn't understand. DON'T BOTHER!

Stayed at this hotel a while ago. Very clean spacious hotel, the rooms were a good size and very comfortable. All staff were very friendly and willing to help. In a great location only 5 mins from Las Ramblas. We only had a room no breakfast included, but there was a nice cafe next door that sold breakfast.

We stayed here a couple of summers ago. A lovely hotel and when we got to our room, we were surprised to have two big double rooms, was lovely and have us lots of room to store our stuff and get ready. Bed a were comfortable, there was a little joice from main room, but not to bad. Great location to Las Ramblas. We didn't have breakfast here, but ate at a cafe next door, which served big English breakfasts at a reasonable price.

A group of us stayed here for 2 days over a weekend and although the hotel is in an excellent location, the staff are friendly and the prices are very good there are problems.

Firstly all the rooms we stayed in are in need of a new lick of paint and some general DIY to get them decent. Then they need the furniture upgrading and a major overhaul of the bathrooms is also required. The breakfast area needs cleaning and the food needs to improve. We stayed on a room facing the rear atrium and the morning view was of other guests on the toilet and there was no daylight whatsoever. Others in our group who stayed on the rooms facing the street said the rooms were much lighter but still in need of a major overhaul.

Ideal for a group of drunken stag revellers but definately not for couples in need of a nice clean decent hotel.

One plus though is that adjoining the hotel is a lovely little bar/
cafe with nice tapas.
