I appreciate your concern due to the virus. This trip was planned in January when all was normal. Of course we will reconsider travel as the time gets closer and more information is available. When the time gets closer and it is advised not to travel I will happily reschedule for another year. As much as I love to travel, as a cancer survivor I know the risk is not worth it and rescheduling will only give me more time to plan and possibly thrown in an extra country or two. That being said, I have determined that my choice to see the Amalfi Coast is by boat. I’m looking for recommendations from individuals that have taken boat tours from Sorrento to Amalfi.

I would first say, please don’t travel at this time! There are too many variables with this virus and the unknown. That being said:

If you travel in September 2021 () you will find many local ferries available to take you to different parts of Italy. There are a lot of local trips that can booked up once you are there. TripAdvisor and Expedia have excellent prices. I highly recommend Hop On Hop off busses in each area. You can travel via train or bus rather inexpensive.

Please reconsider postponing your trip- er on the side of caution

You're serious! With everything going on you're going to try this!

You better call ahead and make sure you have an open hotel, some restaurants etc.

As far as getting around I would not do a car, way to dangerous in my opinion. The road from Sorento to Positano to Amalfi is crazy nuts! And forget the bus, if you can even get on it, its packed and is the last place in the world i would want to be with a virus spreading. The ferry works well when the weather is good. The problem is you might take the ferry from Sorento to Amalfi in the morning and they might completely shutdown in the afternoon because of weather. Sometimes they stay down two or three days, so you better have a backup plan, like an expensive taxi or limo
