a great place to go swimming

beautiful beach, clean amenities, the sand and the water were so clean and clear. Not too crowded, nice shady picnic area. Overall a 5 +++++++++++++++++

A hidden gem!!!! A beautiful natural beach! Great for walks, kite surfing, picnics, permanent bbq grills and a nearby marina. Several piers!

Not the prettiest beach I've seen, but it was worth a couple hours to hang out. If beaches aren't your thing, walk out to the small lighthouse.

ENJOY AN UNCROWDED BEACH

Easy parking and makes a perfect day at the beach. nearby restaurants bars, shopping and malls. get away from the crowd and get the sun, breeze, and cleaner water.

Wakegan Beach

Beach is small and very dirty with litter everywhere. There is broken glass and seagulls everywhere. You really had to keep your shoes on not to step on debris

Pretty Sketchy...but it WAS winter...

Waukegan Municipal Beach

Altho we're resident of Waukegan, we have not been to the municipal beach for a long time..one afternoon my friend invited us to go to the beach, & what a surprise..the beach is so clean, well maintained, a lot of surfers & people flying kites..also many events being held during summer. Please come & visit our municipal beach and you will not regret !!

Public beach

We were in town for our son’s graduation from Naval Basic Training. After graduation we spent some time kicking around town. The public beach at Lake Michigan was a treat! The beach was clean and beautiful.

Nice beach and nice walk

We have visited this beach on a warm August day and it was really nice. The sand was warm, so it even made a nice barefoot walk, well preserved beach you will enjoy it.

Nice walk

We stopped here Friday night after returning our Sailor back to the base. We just wanted to walk a bit. It’s a nice beach parking close to water. Liked the jetty so could walk out further. We walked around for about an hour. No bad smells, no trash on the sand. Great views.
