❤️ I love this six Flags park!
Oh great coaster lineup! I rode every single big coaster there my favorite had to be the superman coaster. It was an awesome ride. There’s many places to get food. I do suggest getting the all day drink because you can refill it as many times as you want and because they do not allow water bottles from outside places there overall I love the Six Flags park!!😊 there is so much to do for family to there are some shows and rides for younger kids! I would recommend getting the flash pass if you can afford it! Because it can get really expensive do expect money and some lines but if you go during a weekday, it’s not that bad anyway, I love this park

Six Flags Great America is my happy place
I love going to Six Flags Great America. I’ve been to this awesome theme park a number of times. This is probably my favorite theme park to go to. I love riding all my favorite roller coasters at SFGA. My favorite roller coasters to ride are X-Flight, Raging Bull, Maxx Force, the Whizzer & Goliath. I can’t wait to go back to next month.

    Fun fun fun
We went Labor Day weekend. Lines weren't bad. Rides were fun. Food was decent. Some rides were closed though (although nothing that we missed). And it's expensive. Generally what we expected and hoped for.
We appreciate the review. Thanks for taking the time. Have a great day!

    Improved since My Last Visit
A friend and I made this park stop number two on a recent amusement park vacation. We have been here many times before. It is a great park. There are many rides of all kinds from mild thrills to high thrills, something for everyone in your family/group. The employees were friendly and professional. Most of the rides were running on our visit. The ones that we rode were in good condition. The park was clean. Food service was a bit slow, even on a not so crowded day. But overall, we had a very good time here.

Amazing if you can get through the weeds and two hour wait times.
Our family has been season ticket holders for several years and always add the mead deal with our pass. It’s a great way to save, especially when taking the kids. And the discount from having this pass is a nice bonus when purchasing items in the park. These make the 3 hour drive twice a month worth it. The season drink bottle is a great deal too. The rides are a great experience once you are finally able to get seated, if they don’t break down after over an hour and half in line. There are three major complaints I have with this amusement park and over the years, it continues to worsen. Number one, the prices are astronomical. There is no reason a soda should ever be over $7 nor a bottles water over $6. We found out the hard way when we forgot our season bottles at home. If you purchase anything out side of the meal deal- be prepared to pay four times what you would anywhere else. Number two, the lines are way too long. We’ve waited over two hours for a roller coaster to have it break down when we were five people away from being on the coaster. The flash pass is great- but it’s so expensive. There’s no way to finance this for four people with the season pass that is affordable. When we go, we are only able to ride three sometimes four rides when we are there all day because of the long lines. Number three is my biggest frustration, being how we’ve waited in the ride lines for so long. Does Six Flags or Hurricane Harbor not have a grounds crew to maintain the landscaped areas in the lines? We have been to several other parks in many other states and this is by far the worst aesthetically pleasing park. The rides are in desperate need of a pressure wash and clean up. I just don’t understand with as busy as this park is, how the management can disregard these areas. What was once a well planted flower bed is clearly now overtaken. There is nothing but tall weeds in its place. This is over taking the walk ways in many areas too. It’s not just one, it’s almost every single one. I can count the very few number of maintained areas versus not. It’s very disappointing to pay as much as we do and not have a better experience.

My partner and I brought my 60 year old mom and our 8 year old daughter and we all had a great time. We went on a Wednesday and the lines were pretty short (especially in the morning). Our 8 year old just reached 48 inches and was so excited to go on all of the rides. Her favorites were the Sprocket Rocket, Wizzer, and the Little Dipper roller coasters. If you're taking a younger kid, I recommend these three as an introduction to roller coasters. We also took her on the Joker and she liked it but thought it was a bit too scary and didn't want to go on any of the other thrill rides after that. We had a great time and there was a ton for her to do at Kidzopolis and Camp Cartoon. All of the rides have bins to put your belongings, which made it easy to travel around the park with all of our stuff in a small backpack. Some of the rides were closed throughout the day but seemed to open back up pretty quickly. The price of anything inside the park is absolutely ridiculous (like worse than Wrigley prices-- see below), which we already knew. We were able to avoid spending money in the park by bringing what we needed and planning ahead. We brought empty water bottles and were able to refill them at several water fountains throughout the park. We avoided spending money on park food by eating a big breakfast in Libertyville on our drive up from Chicago and stopped at the Gurnee Dairy Queen for an ice cream on our way home. We were also able to bring in a few apples, pretzels, and granola bars. They didn't check our bag on our way in. We knew food wasn't allowed and we were prepared to have to throw our snacks away if they asked us to. Many people were also tailgating at their cars for lunch. Parking is $40. From what I saw, Ice Cream was $15, Turkey Legs were $19, Carnival games were $6 per throw (or $24 to play-to-win). It could have easily added up to hundreds of dollars for the four of us to eat, drink, and snack there.

I've been going to this park for many years and my first visit of this summer was very disappointing. You have to pay full price for a ticket just to get inside and find out a number of rides are closed for the day (no water rides open in 90 degree weather?), no compensation or lower ticket prices for this. Their food and drinks have somehow gotten even more ridiculously overpriced. Very long wait times even on seemingly slower days due to other rides being randomly closed. The few staff members I interacted with were friendly and kind, but the park seems very understaffed compared to previous years (wasn't as clean as past years). I was surprised to see quite a few rides have been removed or are sitting unused, making the park feel empty and incomplete in many sections. Very unimpressed with this park after attending for so many years when it was so well cared for compared to now.

Wait times are out of control. First of all, the wait times are not listed anymore at the front of the rides. I was so disappointed as I had paid for my family to go as a graduation gift to my son. He literally went on 3 rides. All rides had a minimum of 1 hour wait and one was 1.5 hour wait. The flash pass was minimum 90 dollars per person which was too much so they had to wait. In addition, the train was closed, all the water rides were closed and there were no shows in the indoor auditoriums. So, they have no filler attractions to distribute people to other areas. Unless you have flash pass you will have a terrible time. Six flags also increased parking fees. The minimum there is 40 dollars a day. They need to do better. They are extremely short staffed as well. The one area that they did do well was the food as the food was decent and not that long of lines. Otherwise, they would get a zero review for the experience.

It seems this place has gown downhill and is charging for more. I could not believe that parking was $40 plus tax. The weeds and landscaping were really bad. The park looks like it has been neglected. If they aren’t trying to keep the things that customers see clean, I can’t imagine what they don’t keep up with behind the scenes. I feel pretty ripped off. That being said, we enjoyed a couple of the roller coasters. We had a good time. The place is just way overpriced and is not taken care of like it used to be.

Guest Relatio s is ridiculous!
Peak time and only 2 people working the Guest Relations office. One for the line of people already in the park and 1 for people outside.

Slow, slow, slow .... and not friendly.

It's been about seven years since I was here, but things have only gotten worse. I noticed fewer staff, less picnic tables, less families, and more groups of teenagers (on a Sunday during the day). As someone else commented, you can't bring in food or drink, so if you spend some time there you are stuck with their rip-off prices for food. Want a turkey leg for $18? Actually the "surcharge" they slap on all purchases adds an additional $!.30 to any purchase you make. So apparently the $17.99 turkey leg would cost you an additional $1.30. According to their customer support, they charge the additional $1.30 on all purchases. Why? Because they can get away with it. Don't you just love places that charge high prices and then go out of their way to nickel and dime you to death?

Rides and park facility are good but meal and beverages too pricey!! like who would want to spend $18 on single slice of a cheese pizza and $7.6 on 500 ml of water bottle?
too pricey, clear no to six flags!!

Spent $140 on a dining pass, doesn’t even include funnel cakes or beignets BIG waste of money. Not to mention $125 for a Diamond pass and you only get 4 fast passes for the WHOLE SEASON. Big waste of money in my opinion. Just wanted a snack and I will be getting a refund.
