My crew stopped by Papa Marcos after work this afternoon based on the strong recommendations of co-workers. The food was delicious of course but, good heavens, I have never experienced customer service at a restaurant like we did at Papa Marcos. I think Papa Marcos walking around the corner with a second round of deserts just as we were getting up to leave and asking incredulously “where are you going” about summed up the experience. I legitimately felt like I was a guest over for dinner. Would/will 100% eat here again!

No. 1 position in Waukegan well deserved. This is a great restaurant for this type of food. Low profile, reasonable pricing, great and fresh tasting food, really good falafel. All seven of us very much enjoyed the food - well done to the owner to run such a great restaurant.

My husband I were looking for a place to eat before going to a show at the Genesee Theater, and we stopped at this location for dinner. We were treated with hospitality and kindness by the owner. We ate in the new section of the restaurant with the pretty ceiling. Our food was hot and delicious. The lentil soup was tasty and flavorful, and it went well with the pita bread. It was the perfect way to start a meal. We ordered a vegetarian combination platter of starters which were also good. The salmon was flavorful. We topped it all off with baklava. What a perfect start for the evening! Thank you, Mr. Marco.

My family and I love Papa Marcos! We have been several times, and each time the food has been excellent. Favorites include the chicken shawarma, chicken wraps, and the vegetarian plates. Even the burgers and fries are really good. What really sets Papa Marcos apart is amazing service. The owners are always kind and gracious, going above and beyond. If you are in the area, you should definitely visit, you won’t be disappointed.

We always look for non chain restaurants when traveling and eating out. We were in the area for a long weekend and read the great reviews so we had to try Papa Marco’s. The food was amazing and the owner was so friendly and nice. The food and service made such an impression on us that we came back the next day for lunch! I got the veggie plate both times…and I am not a vegetarian:-)

Wonderful and exotic food. We got sampler plates so as not to have to choose just one thing. We carried out once and ate in the next day to try different foods.

As a vegan, I find it difficult and therefore not fun to go out to eat around here. But at Papa Marcos I have a multitude of delicious choices! Their vegan combo plate was amazing.

The service was friendly and the food was good. We had all vegetarian dishes and liked them. It’s not in a particularly nice area, but the restaurant looked and smelled clean.

Our daughter, a former sailor, had mentioned that she loved middle eastern cuisine after being deployed to that part of the world. As a birthday surprise today we took her to Papa Marco's. The atmosphere was delightful and the staff extremely welcoming and hospitable. Our waitress was very helpful and engaging. My wife and I have recently begun the adventure of veganism and were delighted with the Vegetarian plate. Our daughter had a beef and chicken combo platter. We were all extremely pleased with our choices. Whenever we visit Waukegan in the future, Papa Marco's is on our "Must do" list!

Papa Marco's is a great place to get authentic middle Eastern cuisine in a simple setting. No Alcohol served but lots of chooses for beverages. Great kabobs and vegetarian dishes with baklava at the finish. Friendly service and very reasonable prices.

I had their Lamb Shawarma and was not dissapointed. Great food and very frendly service. I woiuld go back everyday if I could.

I placed an order to my son who is in the Navy Base. I planned to surprise him with a nice plate of food from this restaurant, instead I got charge 5 times the same amount, and sadly, my son never got the food. I called the restaurant and a very rude man said that he just follows the order he got in the paper. Zero customer service...no solution..he just blamed the delivery company. Where is the food?? where is my money????

My daughter and I were on a girls weekend. We were going to eat here based on the good reviews. We were from out of town and not familiar with the area, so we were surprised when we found it. Didn't look to be in the best part of town. A local neighborhood and next to a small mom & pop liquor/grocery store. Parking was small and very few cars there. Still thinking we would go in, a second look at the dirty windows did us in. So we left without giving it a chance. Just wanted to let others know not a nice strip mall restaurant and not as nice looking as the picture.
