I ate there for a holiday lunch with a colleague. The food was delicious and the atmosphere very homey...like someone added a seat to their kitchen table. I did pass on any cookies, desserts, etc. but they looked delicious!

For the last 6/7 years, 1-3 visits a month.Worth the short drive from Wisconsin. After many years the most expensive menu item has gone from $10.99 to $12.99. Fresh items home made daily. Tina's minestrone soup sets a high bar, no dogs on Tina's menu.

A small store front in the middle of a strip mall makes Tina’s hard to find but well worth the effort. The dining room is cozy with a homey atmosphere and Tina’s friendly manner makes it feel like you are visiting a friend’s home. The food is delicious and the sandwich are large enough to bring half home. It was a delight visiting with Tina and watching her make desserts.

We got a tin of cookies as a gift, and that person stopped at Tinas on the way to our house. Every cookie was awful! It seemed to be the same dry, no taste cookie recipe used for every cookie with just different toppings. We actually took a few bites and threw the whole tin away. No one ate a whole cookie! I have no idea how they can be called a bake shop. They were awful!

Had sandwiches, salads, and cookies from catering. The food was delicious! People were excited when they heard we were having Tina”s for lunch. The staff was very friendly and helpful when placing the order and during pickup. Many options to please a large group including gluten free pasta and salads. Food was nicely displayed and clearly labeled. Great experience! Will definitely be having Tina”s cater in the future.

This food is authentic Italian. Everything is good from the entrees to the Italian cookies. The limited hours do make it hard to get in sometimes, but it is delicious . We did carry out but have dined in previously and it is always a treat to be able to get this food.

We always have a wonderful meal at Tina's. The food is fresh and consistently good. The wait staff, who are always busy, are very efficient and pleasant. Tina almost always tries to get to each table and talk to the customers herself. This is one of our favorite places to eat in town.

Had lasagna carry-out from Tina's last night 07/19/24 and it was the worst lasagna we have ever had. Mostly lasagna noodles, minimal amount of ricotta in between noodle layers and possibly a top layer of mozzarella or possibly provolone and a cup full of runny tomato sauce. Ended up putting it down the disposal. Salad was also stale. The only thing that was fresh were the two pieces of bread that came wrapped in plastic wrap. My thought is kitchen staff has changed for the worse. It was never that good to start, but has now reached a new low. Stay away.

The food was excellent, but the owner/staff even surpassed. Friendly, comfortable - Such a great "feel"!

Very good lunch spot. The Focaccia bread for the sandwich was amazing. We tried the Italian and chicken salad sandwiches and both were good. Tina was working at the counter. Hard working staff.

Owner Tina Tortorici of Tina's Italian Bake Shop in north suburban Gurnee starts her day at 4 a.m., time to begin baking her home-made bread and making cookies, sauces and soups. Her family-operated bakery and cafe serves Sicilian-style food, home-made pasta dishes, gourmet sandwiches and classic desserts. Located at 5101 Washington Street, in Saratoga Square, off Route 21, west of O'Plaine Road, it is open from 9 to 3:30 Monday through Friday and 10 to 4 on Saturday. My wife and I started with bowls of minestrone, then shared a Caesar salad with grilled chicken, romaine lettuce, tomato, olives, sprinkles of parmesan cheese and Caesar dressing. For a main course, my wife chose a special of the day, home-made cheese lasagna topped with Tina's special red sauce. Unique and delicious. I had four sandwiches to choose from--Imbottito, Panino Siciliano, home-made tuna salad or home-made chicken salad. I compromised. I ordered the Imbottito for lunch and the tuna salad to take home. The Imbottito is two hands full of salami, provolone, mortadella, tomato, capicolla, onion, organic greens, pesto spread and balsamic dressing. For dessert, we shared portions of tiramisu and bread pudding with bourbon sauce. And we took home some Italian cookies and Tina's mascarpone brownies. Did we leave anything behind?

A great place for lunch! My friends and I go to Tina’s for lunch often! I just wanted to post a review after this last visit! I love the chicken salad so I save room for desert! It is a true treasure

Very tasty and clearly homemade food. Desserts are all delectable. I wish they were open til 4 at least once a week so I could pick up dessert on my way home from work!
