The cause, they think, is adversity, and it can be better treated by therapy that teaches people how to deal with their circumstances. That adversity takes many forms – narcissistic, abusive, inattentive or addicted parents, traumatic events, and childhood bullying are all examples. I use evidence-based practices that will produce the improvements you want in your life. You and I will find and address your distress. My approach is to be both empathic and directive.
Career: Everyone has exceptional natural aptitudes. If you are struggling with your job or career, I will help you discover what those aptitudes and transferable skills are, and guide you to jobs where they are valued.
Couples Counseling: I am trained as a Level II Gottman Method counselor. This psychoeducational method teaches couples to recognize behaviors that predict divorce, and to learn new ways to relate to each other so that you become lifelong friends and each other's companion.
