30 years of experience working with children, teens, men, women, and families has taught me that the most important thing in life is relationships. It's relationships that help us weather life's storms, and breakdowns in key relationships are usually what lead to a great deal of our distress and turmoil. My help to clients is first and foremost in the form of a positive, affirming relationship, and through that, I have been able to help countless people move toward wholeness and restoration within themselves, and with those that are important to them. I truly look forward to meeting and working with you.

Are you, or a loved one, struggling with relationship issues, depression, anxiety, or a difficult and painful past? Understanding painful feelings can be difficult and making meaningful connections as to how, and why these developed can help alleviate symptoms & lead to change. You may be looking for therapy because there is an issue you hope to change, like low self-esteem, or a behavior pattern that is distressing to yourself or others (such as being reactive, critical). Perhaps you are finding it difficult to move toward your desired goals. You may be struggling with a relationship.

I have extensive experience and work effectively with difficult to manage children and adolescents (12-18), young adult interpersonal relationship and development issues, marital issues, depression, and substance misuse, abuse and addiction and recovery.
Each of us each and every day is confronted with significant life difficulties. We can become overwhelmed and unable to cope with what appears to be insurmountable problems. My approach to counseling and consultation is that of a life coach assisting and supporting each person in learning new ways to deal with life difficulties and reach ones full potential. Most of us can benefit from a coach from time to time to help us deal with issues such as: relationships, parenting, adolescent struggles, substance misuse, abuse or addiction, anxiety and depression. Tomorrow can be different than today!

There is an emphasis on establishing a strong and collaborative therapist-client relationship.
The funny thing about life's hurts, they generally do not just get better on their own. Running from a problem is a race we will never win. My goal is to create a warm safe and relaxed place for you to explore, to discuss, to learn and maybe laugh. The outcome is for you to feel empowered in your life and to have HOPE. Changing or healing often require learning new skills so my approach is as much about coaching as it is about counseling. My primary counseling modes are Cognitive Dissonance and Reframing and REBT (Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy). Together we create the tools for HOPE that are custom made for you.

If we work together, we'll collaborate to build a relationship centered around autonomy, self-determination, and moving at the speed of trust.
I believe each person has the power to expand their agency and live in more authenticity and alignment with their values. I work with individuals, couples, and families to build upon strengths and lean into growing edges, to deepen our connection to meaning, body, and relationships and see new paths forward.

Do you struggle with anxiety or imposter syndrome? How about perfectionism or relationship struggles? On the surface, everything seems sound, yet beneath the exterior lies a persistent battle w/ anxiety and self-doubt. Maybe you are unable to articulate emotions, feel a lack of joy despite having a full life. Or maybe you have abandoned self-interests due to helping everyone around you. But you are here because you have reached a pivotal moment of self-awareness and readiness for change. You have a willingness and openness to exploring vulnerability and addressing deep-seated issues, if so- we should talk!

If you experienced sexual violence in the state of PA, ask me about ways to help cover your costs. I use a relational and feminist framework to help clients understand how our relationships and society affect our healing and connections. I have experience treating those with complex trauma, anxiety/depression, relationship issues, and life transitions. I've worked extensively with survivors of sexual/gender-based violence, C/PTSD, workplace harassment, and those with re-traumatizing legal experiences. I'm proficient in working with those in sex work, the LGBTQIA+ community, and those exploring late-diagnosis neurodivergence.

I have special interest and experience with an array of concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, family issues, anger management, substance use, trauma, coping skills, adjustment issues, school/college concerns and forensic issues.
"I'm not going to tell you to get over it, I'm going to help you get through it." For over 20+ years I have guided individuals on their path towards healing, higher self-awareness, and overall wellness. Many of us struggle with feeling alone, left out, unheard, tired, unconnected, anxious, sad, or fearful. Therapy is a way to change those negative feelings and to address all of the "stuff" we have pushed so far down that we don't know where to start. And you don't have to do it alone.

I also enjoy working with clients living with anxiety, depression, disordered eating, body image, self-esteem struggles, relationship or workplace difficulties, and those walking through grief.
I have worked in various settings, from helping students better learn when addressing their emotional needs to providing family reunification services to people who have been formerly incarcerated. I enjoyed working with college students at Chatham’s Office of Career Development, helping them explore their personality strengths, prepare for their career options, and craft goals that excited them for their future.

I will enter our relationship with great optimism and excitement.
I believe therapy is the process of getting to know and like yourself better. By looking inward, we discover how we support or undermine ourselves with thoughts, feelings, habitual body patterns and behaviors born out of pain and trauma. We start to distinguish our authentic self from who we think we need to be. When we have more information about ourself and more freedom to be authentic, we can then begin to make changes to better support ourself and create a life that is fulfilling.

Feeling stuck or overwhelmed? Are you feeling unheard in your relationship? Do you struggle with understanding or expressing your gender identity or sexuality? Many of my clients are individuals or couples who are frustrated with patterns that are no longer working for them and are looking for a guide to hold them accountable in reaching their goals.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
