It's a beautiful day, can you enjoy it? I bet you are seeking a therapist because there is something getting in the way of completely enjoying this thing called life. I know it is a little intimidating to reach out for someone to talk with, but you have taken the first step and I am ready to talk when you are.

Starting or continuing your journey in therapy is an enormous act of self-care. Life has so much to offer us, but it can feel daunting to keep up with the many directions we are pulled on a daily basis. I enjoy working with clients to implement their own wellness goals with a realistic and individualized care. I believe strongly in allowing space for clients to open up to themselves about what they need. Together, we can identify patterns and feelings that will help you to move with more confidence through the various seasons of life.

I work with individuals/couples on relationship and sexual issues. Sexual and emotional satisfaction is nearly inseparable for both men and women! The defensiveness that damages relationships is often the same behavior that controls vulnerability and intimacy in the bedroom. Simple awareness of learned beliefs or unhelpful fears can create the space a healthy couple needs to heal. Sex and emotional connection shouldn't wait on the backburner until life gives us a break - emotional and sexual expression should mirror life! If that sounds challenging, remember, I don't suggest anyone to do anything they do not want to do!

There are challenges in everyone’s life that can seem daunting. At such times, we need and deserve an understanding, compassionate, knowledgeable guide to assist us in identifying the thoughts and feelings associated with our current difficulties. Factors like background, ethnicity, race, and family dynamics are significant contributing elements that can be essential to clarifying and understanding the client’s situation. The goal for each client is to develop an achievable course of action that leads to effectively managing and reducing their distress.

As a therapist I enjoy working with a variety of groups but particularly enjoy working with women's issues and couples. In my work with couples, I utilize the Gottman Method which includes a thorough assessment process and integrates research-based interventions to support and strengthen the weak areas of your partnership. When working in individual sessions, I use a person-centered and solution focused approach to help individuals discover their strengths and overcome daily challenges. Together, we can approach a treatment plan to meet your needs.

I have been a clinical social worker for 23 years, and have been providing telehealth therapy since 2018. My years of personal and professional experiences provide perspective on the struggles of life. Lasting change happens with a trusting, safe therapeutic relationship where you can set the pace and approach the issues that are affecting you the most. Over time, you build self-awareness and learn to make important adjustments to your thoughts and behavior.

Are you happening to life, or is life happening to you? Did you forget that YOU are the author and editor of your life? Don't be a spectator to a story you don't much like! Life is difficult for most people at some point in their life. None of us are immune to the obstacles in life, but we ARE in control of how we manage those obstacles. Perhaps you are here because you don't know what else to do or where to turn. I would like to help. All you need is a willingness and the courage to call me today. Let's work on it together.

What does it mean to "take care of your mental health?" It's easier to tell when you aren't taking care of it: chronic stress, exhaustion, worry, and panic are all signs your mental health is suffering. If untreated, you could start having nightmares, poor health, trouble in your relationships, and difficulty staying on top of work or school. There are many things that can lead to mental health struggles, like a too-busy schedule, a chronic illness or someone else's troubles, a major life transition, or a death of someone close to you. Or, it could seem to come out of the blue, caused by nothing at all.

As a therapist, I believe that it takes a tremendous amount of courage to reach out for support during difficult times and consider it a privilege to help people along their journey. For me, the most important part of the therapeutic process is the relationship between client and therapist, and I work to cultivate a nurturing and supportive therapeutic environment. Everyone wants to feel heard and understood and providing that is the basis of our work together.
