As a parent to a child with ADHD and autism, I also have an interest in supporting families navigating the joys and challenges that come with raising neurodivergent children.
I enjoy working with individual adults, teens, and children (10+) with a variety of mental health concerns. I have significant experience working with people coping with grief and loss. Through supporting hundreds of individuals and families mourning a death, I recognize how unique grief is to each one of us. I work to normalize and validate the diversity of one's grief experiences to promote hope and healing.

My policy is, come as you are, in whatever state that may be. Are you going through what feels like a never-ending cycle of intrusive thoughts? Do you often find yourself stuck in an anxious loop, that eventually leaves you stuck and unable to make decisions? Whatever the concerns are, I can help stabilize your mind and find solutions to maintain a general sense of well-being and mental clarity. Usually this starts with addressing our emotions, bringing ourselves to a calm place in order to acknowledge the problems. Big problems are usually small at first, no matter how trivial they are, and it’s completely okay to talk about them!

Many people are finding life more difficult these days. There is often so much to deal with in our personal lives, add the impact of world events and it can all just be too much. Having someone to listen and support you can make a big difference in coping with your struggles and not feeling alone. I’ve never met anyone that doesn’t like being listened to and understood. My focus in therapy is to help you get relief from your pain and explore ways to cope with life’s ongoing challenges.

My speciality is in treating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (depression, anxiety, panic, PTSD), pregnancy loss, infertility, birth trauma, difficulty adjusting as new parents, adult diagnosis of ADHD, as well as secondary trauma experienced by partners or care providers (doctors, nurses, midwives, doulas, etc.
Becoming a parent often brings up a wide range of emotions. Sometimes it is the long awaited reward after struggling with infertility, or bearing the grief of miscarriage and loss. Sometimes it is the excitement of adding to a growing family. Sometimes it is the fear of reliving physical, emotional, or mental pain and hardship. Sometimes it is grappling with the societal and cultural expectations of parenting. The experiences that arise for parents during conception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum and parenting deserve a space for specialized care and attention. This specialized care is what I offer in support of your goals.

Others want help dealing with conditions such as learning disabilities, ADHD, or medical problems.
I have been in private practice since 1991 and have previously worked in medical, rehabilitation, college counseling, and community mental health settings. I know that asking for help is not easy. Trusting someone you don't know with very personal information requires a leap of faith. Understandably, you may want to know what to expect, should you decide to work with me. Initially, I will work to identify the particular issues that you want to address and then collaborate with you to develop goals and strategies. Throughout the process, I will listen carefully, drawing out particular material for discussion and presenting new information to help you see yourself and your choices with a new perspective. I will suggest possible courses of action, recognizing that only you can decide whether to follow any suggestions that come from the counseling process.
