Mental health is how we think, feel and act as we cope with life. It helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others and make choices. Like physical health, mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.
Everyone feels worried, anxious, sad or stressed sometimes. But with a mental illness, these feelings do not go away and are severe enough to interfere with your daily life. It can make it hard meeting and keeping friends, hold a job or enjoy life. "Get plugged In". You cannot wish your problems away. Therapy can help.

My primary client focus is on men. Good men deserve to feel validated, respected, and valued for their efforts. Men need to understand that the ways that they experience their lives may be very unique and their ways of interacting may be misunderstood. Many men have had their life purpose interrupted and need to create a plan to refocus. Mental health is a large part of these issues, and if so, we need to definitely make sure that mental health management is part of the plan.

Utilizing evidence-based practices, I have extensive experience treating depression, anxiety, panic, personality disorders, trauma, anger, self-harming behavior, and adjustment distress.
We all have the need to feel supported and understood. Therapy should be constructive and transformative, as well as serve as an important, set aside time for self-care. We know how far the physical environment goes towards making you feel comfortable, and have a positive experience. No one wants the stress of a hectic waiting area before your session, and we have built a comfortable environment to make your therapy appointments feel like a weekly getaway from the hustle and bustle of New York City.

My experience covers trauma, sexual abuse victims, depression, anxiety, PTSD, domestic abuse victims, anger management, dysfunctional family systems, suicide, and negative core beliefs.
Eclectic, spiritually bent, and sacredly genuine. I utilize creativity and work from an embodied healing approach. I will lovingly challenge you; while lovingly supporting you. I want to help you connect to, and operate from, your True Self. Out of the box thinker; life does not fit in a box; therefore, therapy does not fit in a box. Connect to what a fulfilled life looks like for you; and, then how to live that life. Shedding of old patterns and transition into your genuine self. Also, offer energy work.

I have experience with anxiety, depression, couple/family/relationship issues, PTSD, substance use, personality disorders, minority stress, spiritual/religious/existential issues, anger management, and co-parenting.
Many come to therapy knowing only that they are struggling to get things done, their relationships have become a source of stress rather than comfort, or they need help processing trauma, loss, or other painful experiences impacting their daily lives. Whatever your circumstances, I strive to help each person or family I work with achieve greater emotional, psychological, and social well-being, while also alleviating symptoms. I use the power of storytelling and understand that each person I work with has many, important stories to tell. I also value and work with each person's nervous system in the healing process.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
