Kate Middleton and the Duchess of Edinburgh are very popular members of the Royal Family who are frequently referred to as 'King Charles' secret weapons'.
The pair are also well-known for their close bond and are frequently seen chatting and laughing together at royal events.
The two families both live near Windsor Castle - Adelaide Cottage and Bagshot Park respectively - and have spent years dedicating themselves to their royal duties and responsibilities.
While the Prince and Princess of Wales have Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis to look after, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh have raised their two children, Lady Louise Windsor, 20, and James, Earl of Wessex, 16.
A book by royal expert Katie Nicholl has made a number of claims about members of the Royal Family, one of which explains how Kate admires the way in which Prince Edward and Sophie have raised their two children and how they are hoping to follow suit with George, Charlotte and Louis.
In her book The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth’s Legacy and the Future of the Crown, author Katie Nicholl wrote: "Kate is said to admire the way Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie, are raising their children — Lady Louise Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex — in the bosom of the Royal Family but prepared for life in the real world."
The Duchess has previously spoken out many times about her children and the way she is raising them to not rely on their links to the Royal Family.
Speaking to The Sunday Times, the royal said: "We try to bring them up with the understanding they are very likely to have to work for a living. Hence we made the decision not to use HRH titles. They have them and can decide to use them from 18, but I think it’s highly unlikely."
The Prince and Princess of Wales have also devised a clever plan in the way they are raising their three children to ensure that difficult situations that have taken place over the years don't occur again with their two youngest children.
Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were born in 2015 and 2018 respectively and are known as ‘spares’ to Prince George in his role as an heir to the throne. It is expected that Prince William and Kate want the pair to have more freedom than previous 'spares', such as Princess Margaret, Prince Andrew and Prince Harry.
Associate editor at The Telegraph, Camilla Tominey said the Prince and Princess of Wales will want Charlotte and Louis to "have their own careers" if they want to. With their youngest Prince Louis, Camilla said that they won’t want him to "go down the Duke of York path" and become a "royal hanger-on".
Camilla continued: "In the next decade, everything is going to change. We might be seeing fewer royals in the future than we are used to. A lot of the more minor royals have got careers of their own so they aren't really being taxpayer-funded. And in conjunction with the fact there are going to be fewer royals is a recalibration of what it means to be a royal."
