In 2022, NYU and KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) formed a historic partnership, combining the distinctive strengths of both universities to drive advances in research and education, forge new industrial collaborations and investments, and lay the groundwork for a joint presence in New York City. The two institutions formally announced the partnership in September 2022 at ceremonies featuring the President of the Republic of Korea, His Excellency Yoon Suk-yeol, and New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

Since its inception, the partnership has grown to include over 200 faculty from both NYU and KAIST working together to solve the world’s most pressing issues leveraging this cross-continental nexus of innovation, discovery, and entrepreneurship.  As part of this initiative, the NYU-KAIST Partnership is developing a range of dual-degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels along with study away and exchange opportunities.
