Lovehoney Extra Powerful Magic Wand

Offering a wide range of products and toys, Lovehoney is synonymous with sexual pleasure as the brand caters for diverse preferences and needs. There’s something for everyone, and plenty of Lovehoney sex toys are recommended over on our sex Talk board.

One item that is consistently recommended is the brand’s own Magic Wand. Unlike other wand vibrators, Lovehoney’s classic version is mains powered so it’s extra powerful. Besides the fact it packs a punch, it’s also extremely affordable - compared to the likes of the LELO Smart Wand 2

I got the Lovehoney mains powered one for Christmas. I orgasmed in under 2 mins which is unusual for me as I normally take around 10 to 15 mins.

Our verdict

With its enticing £55 price tag, the Lovehoney Extra Powerful Multispeed Mains Powered Magic Wand Vibrator presents an affordable option without compromising on power or pleasure. Its mains-powered functionality means uninterrupted sessions for both solo play and during use with a partner.

However, its bulky design might prove cumbersome during intercourse in certain positions, detracting slightly from its overall appeal. It’s also crafted from hard plastic rather than body-safe silicone, so it lacks the softness of other models like the LELO Smart Wand 2 or Ann Summers’ Self Love Wand. Despite this, its impressive flexibility allows for versatile use across the body, offering a dual-purpose as a sex toy as well as a body massager.

One standout feature is its user-friendly interface, which boasts an easy scroll wheel for effortless adjustments during use. This intuitive design sets it apart from other wand vibrators, and removes any frustration of fumbling around with buttons when you want to ramp the speed and vibrations up. That’s not all - the Lovehoney Magic Wand offers additional versatility in your sex toy arsenal as you can purchase wand attachments, which further expand the range of sensations you can enjoy with this toy. These attachments include a clitoris stimulator that can mimic your favourite clit sucker, and there's even a rabbit attachment that'll replace your rabbit vibrator with this all in one toy.

Final verdict: While it may not boast the luxurious feel of premium alternatives, the Lovehoney Magic Wand Vibrator excels in affordability, reliability, and adaptability, making it a great choice for those seeking a versatile and budget-friendly wand vibrator.

How we tested Lovehoney’s Magic Wand

  • Used multiple times over the course of two months

  • Examined its performance during solo play as well as during intercourse with DH

  • Also tried it as a body wand massager to soothe aches and pains

During testing, I assessed the Magic Wand’s performance during solo play as well as during PIV intercourse with DH to gauge its power and effectiveness, giving particular attention to the toy’s flexibility and ease of use during each situation. I also evaluated the wand’s control interface and how easy it is to slow down or ramp up the intensity. Additionally, I’ve also made sure to explore the wand’s versatility, durability and noise levels.

How easy is it to set-up Lovehoney’s Extra Powerful Magic Wand?

Very easy. Lovehoney’s Extra Powerful Multispeed Mains Powered Magic Wand Vibrator is ready to go, straight out of the box. There’s no need to wait for it to fully charge like other wand vibrators I’ve tested, and as the plug is attached to the wand itself, all you need to do is plug it in and go.

For that reason, there’s no USB cable included, only the mains wire with plug head that’s attached to the vibrator. I was disappointed to find that there’s no storage bag, though.

How does the Lovehoney Magic Wand look?

Large but sleek in black. The wand vibrator is available in four colours - I tested the black version - and I’ll admit, it’s not an intimidating toy. Despite its larger size (which is great for coverage), the Lovehoney Magic Wand doesn’t scream sex toy. That could be because it’s versatile and can be used as a more innocent body massager, too.

Made of hard plastic, I was sceptical about using it at first as I’ve found silicone toys are much softer and more comfortable to use. Although, I was pleasantly surprised at how flexible the wand head actually is - it’s great at manoeuvring during use and making sure you hit the right areas.

What is the Lovehoney Magic Wand like to use?

Unlike other wand vibrators and sex toys I’ve tried, I’ve actually found the Lovehoney Magic Wand is the one of the easiest sex toys to use. Mainly because it’s a plug in and go option, so there’s no waiting around for a full charge before first use and there’s no app to connect it to in order to customise your preferences. The easy scroll wheel is also very easy to use compared to other toys I’ve tested that need you to find the buttons under the covers or in the dark.

So, with that said, I’d argue it’s incredibly easy to use and is certainly a must try for individuals new to wand vibrators.

Who does the Lovehoney Magic Wand suit best?

At £55, the Lovehoney Magic Wand is a superb vibrator for beginners and couples who are new to sex toys. It’s an incredibly affordable price, so it’s not a lot to spend if you’re in the earliest stages of exploring with wands.

It’s also a great choice for anyone who wants a no fuss orgasm, really. As it’s mains powered, it’s very powerful but also reliable. You can enjoy using it knowing that it’ll never die on you mid-climax and need recharging.

Lovehoney Magic Wand: how easy is it to clean?

As it’s made of hard plastic, you’d think it’s one of the easiest sex toys to clean with a sex toy cleaner or soap and water. But considering the fact that it’s not waterproof, it’s a little trickier (and something I had to remind myself about before clean-up as most toys I’ve tested recently are fully submersible). But, given the fact you’re only really using the head itself, there’s no need to submerge the full toy to clean it.
