How we tested the Ickle Bubba Eden Deluxe Nursing Chair

New mum Anna used the Ickle Bubba Eden Deluxe as a nursing chair to breastfeed her newborn son over a period of several weeks. During this time she took rigorous notes on how the chair looks, how comfortable it was as a support while breastfeeding and how she'd rate it for longevity after breastfeeding. She also took into consideration how easy it is to clean and whether it represents good value for money.

How easy is the Ickle Bubba Eden Deluxe to assemble?

"You do need to put it together," explained Anna, "But it isn't difficult - the instructions are straightforward and the materials are good quality so it feels very sturdy."

How big is the Eden Deluxe chair?

The chair's dimensions are 93 x 74 x 93cm and, according to Anna, it's pretty much the same size as any other armchair.

We keep the chair in our son's nursery, which is the smallest bedroom. If we had the space for it in the living room I'd keep it in there - it can easily be used as a normal chair!

What are the main benefits of the Eden Deluxe Nursing Chair?

"It makes breastfeeding more comfortable," explained Anna. "The width of the chair is perfect for me to lean my arm on the armrests while feeding."

The seat is a good length so I am able to sit with my bottom against the back of the chair and have my feet on the floor (I am 5ft7).

The chair is sturdy and well made – I think it would be fine if moving house, as long as nothing spilt on the material. It was also so easy to put together that you could take it down and put it back up again!

Overall verdict

One of the main appeals of the Eden Deluxe Nursing Chair is that it has been designed with the feeding mum in mind, but doesn't look so much like an obvious nursing chair that it will stick out like a sore thumb long after the days of feeding or rocking your baby to sleep are a distant memory. Anna was extremely impressed with the comfort of the chair, and said she thought it represented great value for money because of its potential for use as a regular, comfortable chair long after breastfeeding.

Finally, we asked Anna to rate the Eden Deluxe for the following:

Practicality:
Comfort:
Look:
Design (as a feeding chair):
Longevity:
