How we tested the Bugaboo Clutch

Mum-of-two Alex used the Bugaboo Clutch for her four-month-old baby over a period of several weeks. As well as using it day to day at home and when out and about, she used it over a long weekend away and on a long train journey from Edinburgh to London.

What does the Bugaboo Clutch look like?

The clutch has a quilted pale grey exterior and looks very much like a washbag or toiletries pouch.

It's nice material, a good size, compact but with enough space to fit about five nappies, a full pack of wipes, a tube of nappy cream, nappy bags and perhaps even an extra baby vest.

What comes included with the Bugaboo Clutch?

The side pocket includes a changing mat, which is attached by velcro. This is helpful because the bag flips down the side of a small changing table, meaning you can still access everything even in compact changing areas where there is no space to put things on.

Why did you choose this particular item?

According to Alex, the look of the Bugaboo Clutch had a lot to do with her choosing it, as well as its compact size.

It is so easy to grab this small bag rather than a whole backpack when out and about, and you still know you have everything you need.

How big is the Bugaboo Clutch?

The clutch measures ‎26 x 22 x 4 cm and weighs 280g. "Between A4 and A5 size," Alex said. "This is snug for what it is, but you can still fit enough in for a full day out of nappy changes."

How easy is it to use day to day?

It's really easy to use. Chuck it in your larger backpack or under the buggy. It also has a wrist strap, so you can hook it onto your arm if you are carrying lots of things or a baby.

Can the Bugaboo Clutch be used as anything other than a changing clutch?

"Perhaps," said Alex, "it could easily become a washbag, for example. The fact that the changing mat is detachable makes it more versatile.
