Coronation Street star Georgia Taylor has said she is preparing for the fallout from Toyah Habeeb and Nick Tilsley's brief fling. Fans predicted the pair would find solace in one another after Toyah's heartbreaking secret was uncovered and Nick faces isolation from his partner Leanne Battersby.

They have been struggling to convince Leanne to step away from her growing association with Rowan Cunliffe and the Institute And with their relationship is in freefall, Leanne walked out and it was Toyah who was there to comfort Nick, in more ways than one after a shock passionate clinch.

But their draw to one another has only continued. In scenes aired last month, Toyah was able to hold a funeral for her daughter Rose, who was tragically arrived stillborn when Toyah gave birth as a teen after being raped. With criminal proceedings dropped after police found Rose's remains, her poignant send-off for her daughter was ruined by the discovery that Leanne hadn't paid for it with her savings after all.

It was in fact Rowan who had stumped up the cash in another attempt to silence Toyah after she refused to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to stop talking badly about the Institute. When Toyah later refused to back down, she was shocked to discover that she and Nick had been caught kissing by one of Rowan's pals, which he later sent to her as another form of blackmail, but it fell short of revealing the pair had actually slept together.

Rowan has since discovered just how far Toyah and Nick's passionate clinch went after Leanne informed him Toyah was pregnant during scenes aired during Wednesday night's (July 3) Corrie.

However, during Friday night's (July 5) trip to Weatherfield, it was revealed that Toyah isn't pregnant and that heartbreakingly, a growth has been found on one of her ovaries and that she could have ovarian cancer and now needs to undergo more tests to determine a possible diagnosis.

And it appears Nick will be the one to be there for Toyah, with Leanne falling deeper into the grasp of Rowan and The Institute. "It's difficult because I think Nick wants to be there for her," actress Georgia told the Manchester Evening News and other press. "I think he's becoming emotionally fully invested in her but it's about how much she lets him. Also, on the other side, Leanne with the Institute is really affecting Leanne's behaviour.

Toyah was given concerning news in the hospital

"She's lovely when Toyah's having the scan but as the storyline moves on, Leanne starts to emotionally disconnect even more and then because Toyah's got no friends, let's be honest, it's going to be Nick because he's the one there with his arms open saying, 'Let me help you!'"

But the soap star doesn't think Toyah feels too guilty about her feelings for Nick. "A bit guilty..." she laughed. "They kind of flip flop back and forth and there are moments when they're overwhelmed with guilt and there are moments when both Nick and Toyah seem to be able to quite comfortably put that to one side.

"But I do think it's because, and I don't want to victim blame, but Leanne's behaviour is so out there and she's so combative, she's almost like a robot. We've played some scenes where she's almost not a real person, it's actually quite chilling. I think Jane [Danson, who plays Leanne] is doing an amazing job because it's like you're playing a scene with someone you've never played a scene with before. It's really odd."

Georgia is preparing for explosive scenes with Jane

However, it seems Georgia couldn't find better colleagues to work so closely with. "I obviously love working with Jane, we all know that but it's really fun working with Ben [Price, who plays Nick]," she said. I have a proper laugh with him. The three of us do have a laugh and sometimes, when we get the scripts a few weeks before, we'll take screenshots and say, 'Oh look at what I've got to say about you on Tuesday,' and stuff." She added: "Of course it's challenging but as an actor, that's what you want."

Georgia was also asked if she and Jane had begun to think about the news about Toyah and Nick's affair coming out, to which she said: "We keep saying, 'How are the sisters going to get back together? How are they going to do it? And they'll find a way because [the storyliners] are clever."

"I suppose we've just got to hope that because they do have that history, and me and Jane have the chemistry, we'll find a way to make it believable. Long-term, they have to come back together," she added before admitting things will get 'explosive' before that happens.
