Advocating for their continuous support, contributing, and raising awareness of their importance is essential for a flourishing software ecosystem.

It was HOT on Top of the Hill, in the words of Rob Klootwyk, during the Interoperability Panel: From Mandates to Movement at the Stanford Byers Center for Biodesign Health Technology Innovation Policy Conference! Thank you to each of the amazing panelist! Your knowledge and transparency highlighted this important topic and call to action! Recording is loading, so here are cliff notes of what you missed: What is going well? Exchange IS happening! 👏 But, there are challenges... We spend a lot of public dollars to buy the pipes, and not enough on the flow! And have not yet figured out who plays the gatekeepers. Per Brendan Keeler "The wolves are already in the gates!" There needs to be greater emphasis on authority and transparency. The only way to foster trust is through transparency. Secondary use 🕸 ay yi yi! APIs function differently. There are over 500 EHRs, and there are not additional incentives to upgrade to CURES requirements! #TRANSPARENCY and #TRUST were the hot button of this discussion. 30% of providers are NOT exchanging health information data and that is the biggest problem! #EquitableInteroperability 🔥 Whew, they were dropping gems! I’m excited to announce the beginning of my journey as a Visiting Researcher at the Stanford Byers Center for Biodesign at Stanford University! Over the coming months, I'll be focusing on my master’s thesis, developing a clinical decision support system for hypertension management and contributing to the Stanford Spezi ecosystem. Big thanks to Paul Schmiedmayer, Oliver Aalami, Vishnu Ravi, MD and Pramod Bhatotia for making this unique opportunity possible! I had an amazing first week here and I’m looking forward to the exciting times ahead.

It’s a wrap for our #CS342 - Building for Digital Health class at Stanford University 🎉 We had six amazing projects investigating digital health solutions using Stanford Spezi developed by the Stanford Biodesign Digital Health group 🚀 Thank you to all the students and mentors for making the class a success! Thank you for all the guest lectures this quarter including Ricky Bloomfield, Jon Stemmle, Pariece McKinney, Gavi Rawson, Rajiv Kumar, MD, all the Apple team members who joined for the workshop session, Vivian Neilley, Garrick Olson, Steve Hershman, and everyone else who supported the class by attending some of our lectures or meeting with the student teams!
