Last Thursday, the Food and Beverage at Plug and Play Silicon Valley hosted an #AI meetup. Three startups showcased their groundbreaking AI technologies working to create more sustainable and efficient food systems after Valeria Cobos gave an insightful trends presentation on the AI landscape in the Food and Beverage industry. Check out the startups below! Fountain9 (YC W21): Offering predictive inventory planning and optimization software for e-commerce, DTC, and retail companies. 🤝 Meet one of our mentors, Shadia Oshodi! Shadia has over 15 years of experience in developing and commercializing biotech innovations ranging from therapeutics to biomaterials and food ingredients. Prior to founding her current device venture, Shadia led Biotech & AgTech Open Innovation for the Americas at Ferrero Group for 3 years. New research on the relationship between a healthy Gut Microbiome and the effectiveness of cancer treatment (adding this to our lengthy list of reasons to care for our gut). Researchers have discovered that the balance of gut microbiome communities can predict responses to cancer drugs called checkpoint inhibitors. That was delicious! Following our Food and Beverage Expo, we hosted a food tasting for our corporate partners. We sampled products focusing on the gut microbiome, future-proofing the coffee industry, sustainable oils, cell-cultured food, and more. It was an incredible opportunity to explore food innovation and experience just how good it can taste! Thank you to all the startups that helped create this wonderfully tasty session: Voyage Foods, Omaiko, MeliBio, Checkerspot - Spotlight Foods , California Cultured Inc., InVerte, and Susgrainable. And just like that, the Silicon Valley Summit is a wrap! #SummitSiliconValley We had the most wonderful time at our Food and Beverage Expo last week. Highlights of the event included the 10 startups that pitched their innovative ideas, a keynote speaker, and industry leaders all gathering under the same roof. We want to thank the startups who brought their passion, dedication, and sweet ideas to the Summit. Their innovations have made us even more excited about the future of the Food and Beverage Industry!
