I might not be in journalism anymore because I personally hit a breaking point and couldn’t take the discouragement anymore, but this program changed my life. You should absolutely apply apply apply! Also, it’s open to Canadians! Fighting racism and discrimination in media is exhausting. Yet, it was inspiring to be surrounded by people who care about equity at work and have made it to leadership. Change is possible — I still believe that because I met people making it happen at Poynter.

I'm super excited that we have opened the application process for this year's Leadership Academy for Diversity in Media, to be held at Poynter Institute from Sept. 9-13.
