Associate Director of Communications at Carbon Removal Canada

I might not be in journalism anymore because I personally hit a breaking point and couldn’t take the discouragement anymore, but this program changed my life. You should absolutely apply apply apply! Also, it’s open to Canadians! Fighting racism and discrimination in media is exhausting. Yet, it was inspiring to be surrounded by people who care about equity at work and have made it to leadership. Change is possible — I still believe that because I met people making it happen at Poynter.

👋 Hello, journalism leaders of color! I'm super excited that we have opened the application process for this year's Leadership Academy for Diversity in Media, to be held at Poynter Institute from Sept. 9-13. You'll spend a week with me and co-leader Tony Elkins as your guides and trainers. You'll learn from various experts in the industry. And — best of all — you'll make new friends in journalism. This program is so dear to me for many reasons, and I'll likely talk more about them in future posts. Today I'll say I love being able to support middle managers. They're in a unique position — they are ambassadors, messengers, coaches, mentors, leaders and more. They get s**t done. Without them, an organization cannot survive. So if you're in this role, apply now! Deadline is July 9! #journalism #leaders #managers #training #media #career https://lnkd.in/g64bk8gR
