The U.S. Department of State published its annual Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report. This report serves as a cornerstone in the global battle against #HumanTrafficking, holding governments accountable for their policies, offering crucial data to stakeholders, and shedding light on significant trends and challenges. ➡️ This year’s report highlights the importance of worker empowerment to prevent forced labor. ➡️ The effects of climate change and extreme heat are driving the need for employers to create the conditions for climate-conscious work environments. ➡️ Humanity United welcomes the State Department’s continued emphasis on prioritizing the needs and voices of survivors and those with lived experience in this year’s report. ➡️ By calling attention to the scale of the issue within each country, the report provides a critical dataset for understanding and should spur action. It’s incredibly important that the U.S. TIP Report recognizes the critical role that worker empowerment and worker rights play in preventing forced labor and human trafficking. Bravo!
