Since October 7, more than 100 journalists and media workers in Gaza have been killed. This makes it one of the deadliest conflicts for journalists on record. The #GazaProject brings together 50 journalists from 13 different news organizations who felt they "had to unite" in order to investigate the "killing of journalists in Gaza and the alleged threats, targeting arrests made in the West Bank." Their series of investigations unveils a targeted campaign against press freedom and the dangers that these individuals face on a daily basis as they work to report on the horrors of war. Humanity United strongly condemns the Kenyan government's violent response to protests against a tax-increasing bill that was later withdrawn. This has tragically led to deaths, injuries, and arrests. We urge the U.S. to use its influence to safeguard civil liberties in Kenya. 🇰🇪 Kenyan citizens demand military personnel return to their barracks and there be immediate release of all abducted by security forces. We stand with organizations like Amnesty International USA to call on President Biden to take action in Sudan. “Currently, El Fasher city in North Darfur is surrounded by the RSF and allied militias. Amnesty International has received reports of the burning of villages in North Darfur, escalating air strikes, shelling of residential areas including the Abu Shouk IDP camp, and blocking of aid deliveries by both parties to the conflict.” https://lnkd.in/dBB2smT8
