"I’m just a dude from Taiwan, who loves robots and traveling." Ping-Hua (Michael) LIN, software engineer and recent grad from University of Michigan with a Master's in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, experiments with the latest AI algorithms and, with his team, deploys AI models into Gecko's robot fleet. "We enable our robot to have special 'eyes' and 'ears' that help it understand the world around it. So when the robot looks around, it can tell where the couch is, where the door is, and even where you are! With high-fidelity localization data, we can not only help our customers identify areas that need to be repaired but also provide them with a trustworthy degradation-prediction report for maintenance of their valuable assets. Seeing the robots in action is so inspiring. To know that your work creates impact and makes a difference, especially when working on human-robot collaboration enhancement. That's where I find the most fulfillment."
