Trusted Advisor to Women in Leadership | Giving High-Impact Executive Women The Confidence to Lead On Their Terms & The Strategies to Succeed As They Do | Leadership, & Executive Excellence

Boss & B**ch shouldn't be synonymous for women in leadership Yet, somehow it's still a huge concern for strong, direct, women who are passionate about moving the needle and eager to get things done. Here's my theory as to why that is: As little girls, we might be told we can be anything we want to be, but there are caveats around that. We also have to be nice, helpful, humble, collaborative, kind, and always pleasant and likeable. By adulthood, all this conditioning to sweet and pleasant (on the surface benign, maybe even positive qualities) translates to something altogether less valuable in adulthood:   Helpful ➡️ Self sacrificing   Humble ➡️ Self-effacing   Collaborative ➡️ Your needs always come last   Kind ➡️ Giving to the point of exhaustion   Pleasant ➡️ Passive   Likeable ➡️ Conflict avoidant Adult women, and especially women in leadership are told that we have a right - even an incentive - to be strong, assertive, and powerful.     Women who try to embody these leadership qualities challenge the STATUS QUO.     But here's the catch - because these "leadership qualities" we're told we need to embody to have authority and success aren't what little girls or big boys have been conditioned to expect from women. Suddenly she's the boss, becomes she a b**ch. FACT - You can't lead effectively without conviction, strength, assertiveness, or the confidence to stand in your authority. FACT - there is a VERY specific way women have to approach these qualities if you want to actually benefit from them. At Noteworthy we've specialized in elevating senior executive women to show up powerfully, lead with authority, build massive impact, and still feel excited and joyous about their careers. My San Diego Women's Week 2024 was on UNLEASHING AUTHORITY AS A WOMAN IN MALE DOMINATED INDUSTRIES. The shift from being "nice" to being perceived as "bossy" or worse when showing assertiveness is a significant issue. It's inspiring to see initiatives like Noteworthy empowering women to embrace their strength and authority without sacrificing their true selves!

The requirements for girls and women to be accepted/acceptable in society are unreal. I’m so glad you’re taking a stand with Noteworthy, Alessandra—your work is SO needed!
