Last week, I had the privilege of attending the prestigious Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity on behalf of Unity. It was my first time attending so thought it would be nice to share a recap of it as well as my point of view.
1. The conference attracted a diverse crowd of executives and leaders from the media and advertising sectors, as well as influencers and creators.
2. Companies like Snap Inc., TikTok, Amazon, Google, Adobe, and Meta utilized their spaces to showcase cutting-edge technology, particularly focusing on AI and its potential to empower creators and enhance engagement (thank you to Kate Schwartz and Olivia Nicholls for some great demos around YouTube!)
3. Panel discussions, or 'hot topics,' revolved around key themes such as #GenZmarketing, #AI, and #CookieDeprecation, offering valuable insights into the latest trends and challenges in the industry. The conference also attracted amazing speakers such as Lando Norris, Zak Brown and Elon Musk.
4. Each evening, attendees had the opportunity to participate in various events which include music shows hosted by industry giants like Spotify, Google, FreeWheel, Yahoo, and others. Important to note, access to these exclusive gatherings often required invites or early registration.
*** What truly sets Cannes apart is its unique atmosphere blending beach vibes, warm weather, charming streets, cozy restaurants, and a relaxed dress code. This environment fosters meaningful networking opportunities with some of the most influential professionals in the field ***
Big thank you to our clients, colleagues and friends who made this conference productive and fun!

As the countdown to #CannesLions reaches 17 days, my curiosity about its rich history led me to deep dive into its past. Here are two anecdotes I discovered:
🦁 The Lion, the symbol of the festival, represents courageous creativity. It was inspired by the lion statue in St. Mark's Square, Venice, Italy, where the first festival was held in 1954.
🍺 The Guinness "Wheelchairs" ad, known as "Friendship," won the first Mobile Grand Prix at Cannes Lions in 2013. This ad combined emotional storytelling with innovative mobile technology.
