Neuromorphic computing is a term coined by Carver Mead in the 1980s. (He is also credited with naming Moore’s Law). It means computers modelled more closely on mammalian brains than standard architectures, and a key element is the sparse firing of artificial neurons. https://lnkd.in/d6Vi43m7

In the next few years (or decades) we may inadvertently develop machines which are conscious. If we do so without knowing it, we may accidentally enslave, torture and kill billions of them. This is known as "mind crime", and obviously we must avoid it. https://lnkd.in/d6Vi43m7
