If and when superintelligence arrives, would it be safer for humans if it was conscious, or non-conscious? A conscious machine would understand our consciousness better, and may therefore be safer.

Superintelligence (2014) investigates how creating a machine more intelligent than a human would change humanity. These blinks are full of facts, figures and studies from a variety of disciplines, resulting in a complex picture of the superintelligent future and how we might arrive there.
I was watching this fan theory that humans created The Matrix to escape the consequences of destroying our planet.
There are too many parallels to what is happening nowadays. We love 90s nostalgia, we are into cyberpunk, AI has started to become more advanced, virtual reality is becoming more realistic, and we are not doing so well on the environment front.
Let's limit it to 1.5°C, or we'll be living in a permanent simulation.

There has been so much buzz about LLMs (mostly GPT-x) for educational applications. Perhaps, a more strategic and focused approach would be to leverage SLMs like phi-2 for key learning scenarios like reasoning, math, and reading. Added advantage - SLMs are so much more cost effective to run at scale in products - making them ideal for hyper cost-aware educational contexts. Check out this great conversation between Kevin Scott and Sebastien Bubeck to understand more! Well worth the time! #slm#phi2#microsoftresearch#aiineducation
This video of a chat between Microsoft CTO Kevin Scott and MSR AI researcher Sebastien Bubeck is full of interesting insights about the phi family of large language models, and AI in general. Only 12 minutes, definitely worth watching. https://lnkd.in/gsnTkS9x
These are 2 people worth to follow. As mentioned in an earlier post, I had the pleasure to participate in a discussion with Sebastien on his research on phi-2. Great stuff with lots of applications in real life, resource-constrained environments.
