“Catching a wave and surfing it well, it’s elation, it’s this buzz that you can’t really replace. It only takes one wave, and that’s what I say to my kids. And if you get that one wave, get that feeling, that’s enough”. Sir John Kirwan recently sat down with Jay Reeve and Duncan Heyde to discuss his passion for rugby, Italy and surfing – both in the ocean, and in the Wavegarden. We’re thrilled to be working closely with JK to deliver an authentic surf park community in Auckland for everyone to enjoy, with the goal of improving mental wellbeing and reducing drowning rates in New Zealand. We’re delighted to announce that we’ve received resource consent for our Auckland Surf Park. Located in Dairy Flat, New Zealand’s first surf park will provide world-class sport, recreation, hospitality and tourism amenities that celebrate Aotearoa, its surfing heritage and culture, and the area’s rural character. With a significant focus on sustainability, the masterplanned community includes a co-located Spark New Zealand data centre and 7-hectare solar farm. Notably, excess heat from Spark's data centre (planned to be powered by renewable energy, including on-site generation from the solar farm) will be harnessed to warm the surfing lagoon year-round – a world-first. We’re thankful for all the support we’ve received to date, including from leading organisations and athletes who believe in the surf park’s potential to enhance wellbeing, and deliver an iconic destination for locals, Kiwi surfers and visitors to New Zealand. Subject to further regulatory approvals being received, construction is expected to commence in late 2024, ahead of opening to the public in 2027. To learn more, visit https://www.aventuur.com. With all development and environmental approvals now received, construction on the Perth Surf Park is expected to commence later in 2024, ahead of first waves in 2026. We were proud to support MicroSurfAcademy’s recent community event with Cowaramup Bay Boardriders during the World Surf League Margaret River Pro. Hosted by WSL commentator Joe Turpel, Micro was joined by athletes Lakey Peterson, Rio Waida and Reef Heazlewood, alongside homegrown heroes Jacob Willcox and Felicity Palmateer. The focus was simple - stoke out the local groms, share stories, and offer some advice on surfing, competing, travelling and looking out for one another. For Micro, the most rewarding part of his job is connecting with the communities they visit along the World Tour, and inspiring local kids. Through surfing, they can connect with new people, build new relationships, and big dreams are born. Special thanks to the athletes, Joe and The Common Bistro for making the event possible. 🎥: Darren Anderson Photography #community #surfing #wellbeing #westernaustralia #wsl

Congratulations to Molly Picklum on a historic performance at the World Surf League Pipeline Pro. She placed 2nd in the event, scored her first perfect 10-point ride, and raised the bar for women’s surfing at Pipe alongside Caity Simmers and Bettylou Sakura Johnson. Molly has been working closely with our global high-performance partner MicroSurfAcademy on her journey from promising junior competitor to legitimate World Title contender (and Paris 2024 - Comité d'organisation des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques de 2024 Olympian). We are proud to have Molly as an investor in Aventuur, and will be cheering for her in the upcoming Sunset Beach contest. #aventuur #mollypicklum #surfing #wsl #hawaii #pipeline
