We’re seeking an energetic development associate to help develop SRM’s philanthropic partnerships. Applications with nonprofit fundraising or business development backgrounds are welcome. SRM seeks support in attaining our philanthropic goals that will make an impact on our mission. Job Summary

The Development Associate guides the museum’s efforts to raise targeted project and non-restricted funds and grow the donor database. The candidate understands nonprofit fundraising and is skilled in communications with a proven track record of success in supporting, developing, and executing revenue-generating and/or fundraising marketing campaigns and strategies. The candidate is a key member of our public-facing team.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and lead relationship cultivation of SRM donors.
  • Assist in securing financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporations, including task tracking and record keeping.
  • Organize and support fundraising events and activities, including online, person-to-person, and group solicitations.
  • Manage prospect research for individual, foundation, corporate, and civic group fundraising.
  • Oversee the donor database, prospect records, and development tracking.
  • Craft cultivation, acknowledgment, and recognition programs of contributors, as well as supporting the Director and other team members in exceeding shared fundraising goals.
  • Track communications analytics for fundraising communications.
  • In collaboration with the Director, influence overall messaging to communicate with funder audiences (website, emails, etc.).
  • In conjunction with the Director and related departments, project manage all grant proposal writing and reports.
  • Be conversant in our Fast Track to the Future Campaign, the founding documents, and develop relationships with the donors.
  • Other logical areas as requested.
Skills and Experience
  • At least 2 years of fundraising experience in a small to mid-size organization
  • Able to generate trust and connection with a wide range of people and communities that results in charitable contributions.
  • Demonstrated experience within civic business organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience and curiosity about nonprofit organizations.
  • Digital and CRM competency that enables the use of software systems such as Wild Apricot, WordPress, Mail Chimp, Canva, and Microsoft Office.
  • Training and transitional support will be provided.

Job Type: Full-time (Hybrid – home and office as needed) 

Required education: Bachelor’s (Masters preferred) 

Salary: $45,000 – $60,000 DOE
