  • Thank you again to our generous match partners for their commitment to youth at the Cov during our triple match campaign! For every $1 donated by a Covenant House California supporter, a partner is donating an additional $2, tripling the impact of all gifts in support of youth experiencing homelessness and ensuring our sustainability. Have you considered a gift? It's not too late—the match was just extended through July! Donate now to ensure your dollars go 3x as far in supporting youth in need. (And don't forget to ask your employer if they'll match it, too -- amplifying your impact even further!) https://lnkd.in/g3yPt2q4

  • Want to help our LGBTQ+ youth? Get moving! We at Covenant House California have the perfect opportunity for you, your colleagues, and/or your ERGs to avoid those 'stuck behind a desk' blues this month: Strides for Pride is an annual, week-long campaign during Pride month to acknowledge the hardships faced by LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness--who are 120% more likely to experience homelessness than their heterosexual peers--and to fundraise in support of their unique needs. Joining is simple: just sign up and encourage your loved ones to support you with a donation as you move for 40 minutes a day (because 40% of youth experiencing homelessness identify as LGBTQ+) every day from June 24th-30th. All funds raised will go directly to providing food, shelter, clothing, healthcare, education and more to young people in need. Love is love, move with the cov! • At Covenant House California, we strive every day to ensure that every young person in California has access to shelter, food, education, and most importantly, love. We are so grateful to partners like Bank of America who have joined us in this endeavor, supporting our programs—from street outreach to housing to our full continuum of wrap around care—with a meaningful commitment to youth through both funding and volunteerism. (Pictured here: two BofA volunteers helping out at the Cov!) Today, we are thrilled to share that Bank of America has selected us as a recipient of its #BofAGrants to help support our critical work in preventing and ending homelessness for young people in LA. We are grateful for this meaningful investment in our work! #ThankYou

  • Love is love, move with the Cov! Strides for Pride is taking place June 24-30--are you ready? Strides for Pride is a week-long challenge to fundraise and log 40 minutes of activity per day in support of LGBTQ+ youth overcoming homelessness at Covenant House California. Why 40? Because 40% of all young people facing homelessness in the U.S. identify as LGBTQ+. In fact, LGBTQ+ youth are more than twice as likely to experience homelessness than their non LGBTQ+ peers. When you sign up to participate in Strides for Pride, you're providing LGBTQ+ youth facing homelessness with access to shelter, safe spaces, nourishing food, everyday essentials, case management, education and job support, and, most importantly, hope. Move with us this Pride month to remind LGBTQ+ youth that at the Cov, love is love! Visit https://lnkd.in/e8H6u_uy to register today! #CovLove #PrideMonth #CovenantHouse #CHStridesforPride

  • THANK YOU to our partners at Amazon for their commitment to Cov’s youth! This week, our own Monique Iniguez had the pleasure of sharing our mission and story with #AmazonVolunteers during a service day where they assembled 1,100 hygiene kits for young people in California experiencing homelessness and trafficking. We are grateful to all our corporate supporters, who help make our work possible. Special thanks to Molly Schuld for coordinating this event! #ThankYou #CovLove

At Covenant House California, we work every day with young people who have been the victims of crime. In particular, young women and men who have experienced trafficking, often alongside other traumas. With nearly 30% of all homeless youth in the U.S. located in California, and with 1 in 3 young people who are people experiencing homelessness reporting that they have been approached by a trafficker within 48 hours on the street—we firmly believe in the urgency of this work, and are grateful for all the support we receive from funders and partners to better serve this vulnerable group. National Crime Victims' Rights Week (NCVRW)—happening right now, April 21-27, 2024—is an annual observance meant to bring awareness to the experiences of crime victims, and, more importantly, to offer them hope for the future. The 2024 theme asks all of us—friends, family members, neighbors, colleagues, community leaders, victim service providers, criminal justice practitioners, and health professionals—how would you help? During NCVRW, we're reaffirming our commitment to relentlessly engaging and unconditionally loving youth—especially those who have fallen victim to crimes--and providing a full continuum of wrap around services to improve overall well-being and ensure a path forward to a successful future. We pledge to always do what we can, wherever we can to help young victims of crime—during NCVRW and all year long! Will you join us? Visit us at https://lnkd.in/gCnt2De8 to learn more about our programs and services and decide "how you will help" today! #NCVRW #VOCA #CHC #ThankYou #CovLove
