“I have known Roque for nearly 3 years at the time of this writing, and have had the pleasure to work with him during his doctoral dissertation on DEI in music education/arts and as a committee member. We also served in the NGen Fellowship, which focused on DEI elements, systems change, and adaptive leadership to name a few. Roque's own life and soul experiences exemplify the passion, persistence, drive, and commitment he demonstrates to the DEI profession, especially in music/arts education and industry. He doesn't talk about DEI to preach or hear himself talk, but espouses it as a core belief and value. In other words, he applies personal knowledge with experience and takes action to find solutions. In fact, he has lived many of these experiences firsthand, which makes him an especially compassionate, empathetic, and astute leader, but also open to seeing a variety of vantages to bring the best practices, frameworks, and aligned expertise forward to the individual or organization at hand. He is also able to intuitively understand the DEI needs from a unique perspective given his background. I know Roque will contribute a long-lasting and positive impact on any individual or organization that chooses to consult with him.”
