DEI practitioners are not magicians. Leaders disillusioned. —— [Alt text embedded in the image.]

  • The image illustrates a dialogue between two people. The first speech bubble shows a man with short blonde hair wearing a blue shirt saying: “We need your help with our organization’s DEI initiatives.” The second speech bubble shows a woman with curly brown hair wearing a purple shirt responding: “What’s your vision? What’s the budget? Where’s my team? What trade-offs are you willing to make?” The third speech bubble shows the man replying: “Hmm… You’re asking a lot of us.” Below the dialogue, there is a moral of the story: “Don’t jump on the DEI bandwagon without committing to the necessary time, resources, and efforts as much as you would for other business imperatives.”

Otherwise, it’s insincere, and a sad PR attempt that is completely hollow, and a terrible business practice.

And we are not just trophies to be told, " We don't really want you to rock the boat and make a bunch of changes.. just put up some posts and stuff.."

Passive aggressive efforts can be stifling. Put money, resources, tools and bodies where the concern is. -Thank you
