Eli Lilly Shrinks Waistlines as Their Manufacturing Grows to Keep up With Demand Exciting news from Eli Lilly and Company: They recently announced investing an additional $5.3 billion in their Lebanon, Indiana manufacturing plant to meet the surging demand for their popular weight loss and diabetes treatments, Zepbound and Mounjaro. Over the past year, the demand for Zepbound and Mounjaro has significantly exceeded supply, leading to shortages in the U.S. This brings their total investment at the site to $9 billion, marking the largest investment in Eli Lilly’s nearly 150-year history. With operations expected to begin in late 2026, this multi-site campus will leverage the latest technology to deliver their latest medicines. How might this expansion to Eli Lilly’s manufacturing power affect patients and this class of drug in the healthcare industry as a whole? I want to recognize the leadership of Congressmen Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA), Don Davis (D-NC), and Tim Burchett (R-TN) for introducing the “Regulatory Early Notice and Engagement Act.” Why it matters: A lack of continuity between administrations is resulting in regulatory whiplash, leaving manufacturers to navigate a sea of regulatory uncertainty and unable to plan for long term investments. This broken regulatory process impedes our industry's ability to produce essential chemicals at home and pushes manufacturing to countries like China. All of this undermines national priorities, impedes domestic innovation, and threatens U.S. competitiveness. Here's how the bill can help restore the regulatory review process and increase transparency: Within one week after initiating a new rulemaking activity, a federal agency would have to make public on its website and send to Congress a regulatory early notice. The U.S. Government Accountability Office would develop and maintain a database containing each regulatory early notice and report to Congress on agency compliance. Bottom line: The U.S. economy and national priorities run on chemistry, and there needs to be a regulatory environment that supports manufacturers’ ability to operate and innovate. For this Wednesday morning a two part posting on energy from two sources. This one is a double barrel author commentary by André Béliveau, the senior manager of energy policy at the Commonwealth Foundation, Pennsylvania’s free-market think tank. The second author is Amy O. Cooke, president and chairwoman of the Board of Always on Energy Research. It is entitled: New EPA Rule Is a Death Sentence for American Energy.  Since when does various ABCs get to decide what is a go or a no go. The USA has an abundance of energy resources. Granted some blue states don't utilize them or depend on other states or countries to either provide them or provide loans for their solar and wind scenarios (take Idaho for California). The US has an abundance of coal, oil, natural gas (not DC gas), and other resources. The permian basin, the Marcellus shale formation all along the Appalachians. Yet though NG runs up into NY, they refuse to utilize it. It basically boils down to energy density and potential fro what you have. The real question is why shoot yourself? Or perhaps let various government ABCs do it to you? One thing is for sure they are spreading chaos in every form that they can......simply remember where we were just a few years ago. Don't depend on others for energy or materials of construction to make items ( take solar panels, or rare earths ) to make electrified items. Especially when these very folks do the opposite.....With independence comes strength, use it......Say the words carbon capture....the "Science" seems to be strictly an ABC and political judgement thing....so on to it. ...."The Environmental Protection Agency plays judge, jury, and executioner—and its newest-issued rule is a death sentence to American energy and energy-producing states.  Meanwhile, states like Pennsylvania, which will be disproportionately harmed by the rule because of our abundant natural gas production, hold the key to America’s increasing energy needs, generating immense economic development and reducing the very emissions targeted by this heavy-handed agency.   The EPA unilaterally issued a final rule establishing draconian emission standards that target existing coal and new natural gas power plants nationwide. It requires 90% carbon capture for power-generating facilities by 2032....." READ ON, PRAY ON...STAND UNITED for FREEDOM, RIGHTS...IN GOD WE TRUST!!...PROUDLY, STRONGLY!!....all over the WORLD>>>!!
