Chicago Fire Department says they’ve started training to protect the public during what could be a troublesome Democratic National Convention. But the department’s union says there are concerning risks over a lack of paramedics and that could cause delays in getting emergency medical care. The city disagrees. https://lnkd.in/gPBezBig

Black Hawk’s great granddaughter says her ancestor’s name and image have been turned into a cartoon that she finds offensive and racist. Native American mascots have been dropped by several sports teams but the Chicago hockey team keeps using the logo. They even partnered with Budweiser to put his image on a can of beer which is an entirely different and offensive issue to his ancestors.

Black Hawk was a real person, a war leader of the Saulk tribe who fought to save them. Tonight one of his great granddaughters talks with me about how the Chicago Hockey team took his name without permission and she says he was then turned into a cartoon, a caricature of a “stereotypical Native American.” And there’s much more. We follow the money tonight during our 10pm news !!

It is the body cam video the city did not want anyone to see. It took 4 years but my team finally obtained what happened to ten year old Dakaria Spicer as she was headed to school to get a laptop with her dad and brother. They had no idea a police chase was unfolding nearby. The officers were chasing another vehicle for a traffic violation. A direct violation of police policy. You can hear the bizarre discussion of what officers are saying in their squad right up until impact. One doing play by play of the entire ordeal.

I made my Eye On America debut tonight thanks to my buddy Jim Axelrod. My team in Chicago including Tim Viste and Samah Assad did an amazing job exposing how these vets are exposed to radiation during a secret mission.
